This was supposed to be an agent of change election. Unfortunately... we got agent Orange vs status quo.

As a libertarian this has been such a disaster of an election cycle. I wanted someone that could come in and break up the gridlock in congress. Instead we get a goofball who will go in with a wreckingball and chop of the head of anyone who dares disagree with him (if he wins).

I think this is a myth that people really need to get over. If you want to break the gridlock in congress, you have to elect new congressmen. We always complain the President never does anything, and then we reelect the same idiots to our congress. If people want someone to blame for the gridlock, they need to look in the mirror.

American voters wanted gridlock; they re-elected Obama to a second term then saddle him with a GOP majority of both houses of Congress. What else would happen besides gridlock? Republicans are so dead set against Obama than if he said the world is round, they'd counter that it's in fact flat.

You know the situation is bad when Joe Biden is the cavalry.

Biden is a suitable candidate, trustworthy, likable, and a strong track record. Many Republicans even spoke highly of Kaine as a potential VP recently citing that he doesn't play personal games and you can work with him and said that even Biden could have played a similar role if the administration let him.

I still think Trump will lose, if only because he has offended so many people, but it's going to be a close election.

This thread has become an almost thorough summary of the vast 'online' election conversation, from Hillary's side ofc, within less than a week of one soundbite and one medical emergency.
I'd call that a win for the report of that contingency plan if this nominee, not so much loses, rather can't make it before the actual election.

The intended audience isnt professionals and presidents. They are Joe the plumber. Angie the accountant. Delores the stay at home mom. Mike the mechanic. John the cashier at wendy's. Etc. The point of these websites is to attract voters, disseminate easily digestible info, and catch eyes. Its not meant to be some boring formal attention straining .gov site.

There is something to be said about a simple design, especially something intended for the masses. It's not like she's going to use the same approach when writing communication to heads of state.

This whole pneumonia thing was really an unforced error on her part. I can get why she didn't think to reveal it. How many of us have been sick but still showed up at work anyway? That being said, when running for President, it's better to be honest about these sort of things because it will come out eventually.

Nothing on that page is intended to attack that frog. Its educating people on what that frog means and how its being used by racists. Its no different from someone explaining what 88 means.

She doesnt even need the quotes to prove it. It has been used by the alt-right. Even the creator of the meme acknowledges that its been used by racists and bigots. Hillary isnt adressing what it was originally used for or what the creator intended to mean. She is adressing the way the alt-right and racists are using it and that they are using it.

Pepe isnt the first meme to be coopted by *******s. A popular well known move by the character Captain Falcon wss coopted and became synonymous with murdering a woman's fetus by kicking her in the belly. Like with Pepe the original meaning is irrelevant. The problem isnt the original meaning. The problem is the way certain POS groups use it.

I wouldnt go so far as to say everyone using a pepe meme is a racist or that pepe is the new 88 or swastika or that every pepe picture is promoting racism, but its a meme that has become tied in with Trump (a racist) which ties it in with the alt-right, the Trumpeteers (many of whom are racists whether they recognize it or not), and white supremacists that are supporting him and his campaign of hate and racism.

Honestly, barring Donald ****ing Trump, I have never seen such a divisive candidate. She inspires no one; the only strong feelings for her are negative ones. This whole election has felt like a coronation.
