Podesta's brother invited him to a weird performance art thing by someone called Marina Abramovi, which involves 'Spirit Cooking'. Its supposed to be weird and disturbing, some of that in your face stuff that deliberately tries to unsettle you. Naked performers, blood on the walls, etc. The right are going wild that its a satanic sex cult

The only site where I have seen anything like that has been from a Macedonian registered conspiracy clickbait site linking to another.

I hate to sound like a conspiracy theorist but part of me thinks some of these media polls are purposefully making it seem close because they like having a story of a close election down to the wire to report.

Same thing happened in 2012 where the polling numbers tightened up closer to the actual election, then at the end of the day Obama was underpolled a good 2-4%

I don't see how the FBI can ever be seen as unbiased for a very long time. They have a bunch of cry babies, who because they can't find legitimate evidence to pursue a case, have to leak confidential information.

I really don't think it's a conspiracy. Polls do tend to tighten the closer you get to an election, it's just the trend that happens as people "come home" to their respective parties. Add the latest headlines into the mix and here we are.

Hopefully this is just a big wake up call for "on the fence" liberals (WTF? HOW?) to swallow their ego, show up to the polls and vote for HRC.

And they've done other things, like oversample Republicans and independents with high education degrees, since they tend to vote Democrat more than the rank and file Repubs and indies do.

There's just no excuse to do this. There's no reason why there should be a D+12 sample when Obama (much more popular and exciting than Hillary) only registered D+5.

A couple things here. You're misconstruing what the term "oversampling" means in statistical and poll analysis.

"Oversampling" doesn't mean you're sampling too many of one group, it's basically if you were polling 500 likely voters in a state with a 10% Hispanic population, that would mean 50 of the voters surveyed were Hispanic. 50 is too small a sample and the margin of error it too high. You couldn't for instance say what Hispanic males or Hispanic females think with any degree of certainty.

So, instead, you call 300 Hispanic voters -- enough to look at "men and women, Republicans and Dems, age breakdowns, and in a state like Florida some ethnic breakdowns -- Cubans, Puerto Ricans, etc.. But when you go back and run your survey numbers, you weight those 300 Hispanics back down to 50, so you aren't over-weighting their sample in the broader poll population.


You're also ignoring a few things with party identity in that its not a census collected piece of data like age, ethnicity, or gender. When you do a poll you ask which party people ID more with, but the results aren't really weighted to match any kind of party breakdown. Also, it's been shown in Presidential election years that there are typically more identified Democrat voters than Republicans. This is not the case in mid terms.
