The Clinton Thread

When did I say I was convinced of that or all would? I said it is possible as the Clinton brand name garners a certain ammount of unprecedented hate from Republicans. Please stop putting words in my mouth, Souvalki.

I'll believe it when I see it. She can easily play semantics and say "I meant in pledged delegates. Being as Supers aren't pledged until the convention and there is no winner, why should I quit?" At the very least, she is not going to quit without getting SOMETHING. Be it her campaign debts paid off, a guaranteed position of power (supreme court justice, majority leader, what ever). Until Obama throws her some kind of rope (and I don't think he will) she is going to stick around.

And if she's still fighting this in July despite the fact that she has no real way of winning the DNC will throw her a bone to get her out of the race. They will do anything and everything to get her out if it means keeping it out of the convention because unlike Clinton they are not that self destructive and they know taking it to the convention will be a mistake.

Okay, convinced is the wrong word.... but you did say:

Republicans? No. But I question how much Republican support he actually has and how much voted for him out of spite for Clinton. Independents, if they really believe in this guy, I doubt it will matter.

What makes you think that people are not doing the same voting against Obama?

BTW did anyone see when Olbermann channeled his inner-Murrow and ripped Hillary a new one wider than her win in West Virginia (no that either matters at this point)?

I personally think he was overly harsh and misconstrues what Clinton said about RFK and exaggerates for effect, but the sincere anger he had and the general notion and theme he is pushing about her campaign and candidacy I thought was pretty interesting and maybe even a little powerful.

Olbermann has been the official spokesman for the Obama campaign since day one, so its to be expected.

Oh come on Matt.

You have to admitt Hillary has been digging herself a massive hole steadily for months, and her RFK comment was like she decided to get a mechanical digger to dig that hole for her. Of course commentators are gonna rip her apart.

Seconded. This became evident when he called for Clinton's withdrawal from the race back in February.

Or he just doesn't like Clinton.

:whatever:

That doesn't change the fact that Olbermann has been Obama's biggest cheerleader. As Jman pointed out, he demanded she drop out in February, a time when she won every major super tuesday state and was leading Ohio and Texas by double digits as well as PA meaning there was a good chance she was going to win the nomination (still would be if it weren't for her virtual tie in Indiana).

Nor does that the change the fact that Clinton's RFK comments were utterly wrong and deserve all the criticism

No, but it doesn't really come as a surprise that Olbermann attacked her over this. Because Olbermann has been anti-Clinton for the duration of this campaign, it's hard to see how anything he has to say will single-handedly change what people think about her.

The fact that folks compare Olbermann to Edward R. Murrow makes me die a little bit on the inside.

Even if he was in the tank for Clinton, he'd still criticize her. It's not his fault that Obama hasn't had stuff that has failed to be holy ****ups

But thats not what we are talking about, is it? How does what Clinton said, no matter how disgusting it was, justify what Olbermann said months before Clinton even made such a claim. I love the mentality that Obama supporters have that one person's shortcomings some how justifies another's.

Olbermann is an overly biased pundit. I don't think he would act objectively either way.

And I love how some idiots on here think anyone that says a harsh word to Clinton is an Obama supporter, when I have stated I support no one running for office.

What has Obama said that is on the same level as Clinton's RFK comments?

I love that people think all obama supporters can be categorized into just one group with the exact same opinion and mentality. That's a low blow, matt.

I love that you've done the same thing whenever someone brought something up about Clinton.

Good job.

I didn't say ALL Obama supporters. Are we really going to play the overly sensitive "You generalized Obama supporters," card? You're better than that. :csad:

Umm, not really. Especially being as I have insulted both candidates on numerous occassions. Nice try though, thanks for playing.

I am better I know, but I get the whiskey in me and it's off to the races. It was just some basic categorizing that you generally avoid. Categorizing a group into one thought along with
bendis dialogue is kinda my pet peeve.

Personally I've never seen Olberman and couldn't care less what he thinks. If he did that stuff and his show is supposed to be unbiased than that's messed up. If it's supposed to have his opinions then there's no problem. What I have seen are hillary's comments and I know those are ****ed up, and I thought a bit of wishful thinking on her part which stirred up the whole "any black man elected would get assassinated" argument that's pissed me off so much in the past. I didn't think it was as offensive as her under sniper fire remarks but it definately enhances my thoughts that there's not much in her that I can't compare to bush in terms of idiocy.

Ah. You've done it. I know because it was to me when I brought up something the Clintons did. You just brought up something Obama did as well.

In that case I apologize and change my comment to "Several Obama supporters on the Hype"

From what I understand, he is the liberal Bill O'Reilly, so it isn't fair to criticize him having an opinion. However, it seems like Several Obama supporters on the Hype have been lifting him onto a pedestal as if his word is gospel according to Keith for these past few weeks, despite the fact that he is clearly very biased and has been from day one and it is really nothing more than his opinion which he is very good at screaming.

As for Clinton's stupidity...I tend to agree. But I see that in every candidate this election, which is why I will ultimately vote for whichever third party candidate I find best represents me and hope like hell we get a Warner/Brown ticket in 2012.
