I wouldn't consider the interview to be spoiler because I already put the puzzle pieces together.

The only thing though is that it might not be Joker who used the acid on Harvey to make Two-Face. Don't forget he was in that room apparently talking to all these thugs. In BB Nolan used Joe Chill so maybe he'll use the same gang member in the comics who used the acid (made by Joker) on Two-Face.

It's not even confirmed. At all.

Eckhart said Harvey's fiancée dies in the film or something, and since there's a shot in the new trailer of Rachel being thrown off some sort of building top from the great Clown Prince, everyone assumes that, yes, Rachel dies in the movie.

Can't see it, myself; let alone Rachel being Harvey's soon-to-be goddamn wife.

Well the film has got to take place over the course of several months, that's enough time for Harv and Rachel to become engaged.

But I don't think she dies from being thrown off the building by Joker, I doubt they'd put her death scene in the trailer. If she's killed, I bet it's via another way.

here's my thought process as to Dent's transformation into Two-Face:

1. it is an acidic scarring, and its perpetrated by Rossi acting on Maroni's orders. However,

2. After Dent is scarred, people panic and start running out of the courthouse. That's when either Joker or someone else walks in with the gas can in order to "finish him off"

To me (and that's JUST a thought) Dent will be trapped and beaten by mobsters in a parking garage or whatever because he managed to put Maroni in jail......that's payback, in the pure gansgter movie tradition a la Godfather !!!

maybe he deliberatly did it to confuse us? "accidently" reveal a huge spoiler the same day as the trailer is released showing her being thrown off the building when acually bats swoops in saves her and he was refering to an old fiance!

Actors revealing major spoilers are nothing new. Kim Cattrall did that for SATC,Will Smith on I Am Legend etc...good to see Maggie's Rachel die.

To be fair to Will, he was making a film based on a novel. It wasn't as if these spoilers were exclusive.

Its really character assasinations making Rachel ****ing up at the D.A's. office. Some saw in BB the D.A. was like her dad but some saw her dating that dude too and now Dent?
Rachel dies is way too easy but you can see it coming. ( no wonder Katie,McAdams and Blunt were not really dying for the role).
If Eckhart was referring to his ex-fiancee then Dent is an a-hole and cad for dating Dawes so soon. Where's his mourning for his beloved wife to be? If Jean Grey,Cyclops,Harry Osborn etc can die in the bigscreen then so can Rachel.

I'm not suprised. The character was very unpopular. As far as the plot, it makes sense too. It will help turn Dent insane. It will truelly test Batman's patience to not cross the line and become a killer because he loved her too AND it will show just how screwed up and evil Joker is. It makes perfect sense.

i really hope these are real spoilers. he basically confirmed the ACID. it'll finally shut all those people on this board up who think that that gasoline scene in the trailer is how he's scarred.

We're all in agreement that the chase follows the party, so another thing to keep in mind, is that the GCPD swat van is also chasing Joker. It's been reported that Harvey is in that van. Why would a DA get in on a high speed chase unless something dear to him was a stake. Rachel is in that semi when it flips IMO. That's also the result of the beat down in the interogation room.

I ALWAYS predicted Rachel would die.

1) It works: It'll push Harvey over the edge and test Bruce's resolve

2) It makes the Joker THE arch nemesis of the Bat. In the comics, the Joker gets to kill everyone: Robin 2, Batgirl (cripple), Gordon's wife. Since when did Mr. Freeze or Man-Bat kill anyone close to Bats? In the words of Alfred from BB: "Neeeevaaaaah!"

3) Rachel is only expendable character. Nolan created her. She's not from the comics. If she dies = zero fan outrage. Even if Lucius Fox died, I bet fans would be PISSED. So killing Rachel keeps Nolan safe with the fans.

4) It's more than likely Catwoman will be introduced in Nolan's Batman 3 (just call it a hunch). So Rachel's death won't mean a zero female cast (all male cast) for Batman 3. Selina Kyle will fill her shoes.

What's bad about Rachel dying......

If Joker does kill Rachel, and Harvey does go nuts and swear revenge on the Joker... it almost guarantees Nolan is going to have to recast the Joker for Batman 3, because how in the world is he going to resolve this plot if the Joker is missing-in-action in Batman 3??????

I agree dawes dying is good
it fits 100%

and I figured it would happen aswell

but figuring it will happen and knowing it will happen is two different things

would have obviously been more enjoyable if we all found out our first time watching the film

I haven't been opposed to a recasting if that's what is needed to finish telling the story.

it would be a great ending but it would suck because the jokers dead
but I think it would work perfectly now that ledger has past on, I wouldnt want a replacement for sucha vital character

If Rachel does die.... I'm very curious as to how she dies. The Joker is a sick psycho guy, but in the comics he pretty much doesnt have a sadistic taste for killing people in the most brutal ways.... he pretty much just shoots people. Well, wait, he did beat Robin 2 to death. If Rachel dies I wonder how TDK still got a PG-13 rating? Watching a villain murder a major cast member.... not something that happens often in superhero flicks....

this is what I thought before I heard that dawes dies, this would be better but I'm seriously against the recasting of the joker for part 3
unless its a small part
a recasting for part four and a main role would be fine
but part three it would be too soon after this man has past away and after a good performance to be replaced or alterd.
