I don't think Bale's speaking about the character is an indicator, but if Nolan doesn't come back for a third then, yea I do think it's going to go downhill. Unless they get someone better to direct it... but who?

It's funny how when the lady said "played by the late Heath Ledger"... the video right away cuts to the part where Joker says "Why so serious?" in the trailer.

Come to think about it, it's not that funny just weird I guess.

Love Bale for saying this was Heath's "defining" role. And the bit with Nolan talking about Heath always bringing ideas to the set, like which prop he's going to hold or how he's going to do certain things as the character.
