i understand that its mreo about dent since they are devoting this movie for the build up and then the 3rd for two face.

the joker is important but nolan is more fascinating about dents character.

Whatever happened to the rumors of Nolan doing this movie Pirates or matrix style where a film is released a few months after the sequel?

they were just wild rumors. there was a two-face scene filmed, and at the time people thought two-face wouldn't be in this movie so someone suggested that they were filming 3 at the same time. not true.

"Nolan: I wouldn't want to give away too much about this film, but the thing I will say, and I said it a lot about Batman Begins and it was genuinely the truth, is I don't think in terms of sequels. I think in terms of making this film the best film it can be and the most complete film it can be."

the perma white tussle can finally get behind us...

hopefully.

That had just about every question i would ever want to ask Nolan on it. Good interview

C'mon like he wasn't thinking at all with the card at the end of Begins?

limp? maybe a little reference to some ol' scratch depictions?

Yea I guess we'll never know if he actually wears make-up over his perma-white-blotched skin or what.

It's interesting how each interview and press release seem to give off information that contradicts the one before it. Premiere said that Goyer & Nolan had a trilogy laid out, Empire says that he never intended to do a sequel, now he says that he never thinks about sequels. It's not that big of a deal (other than the fear that he might not do a third), but its weird.

IGN: So it's expected that the third film will focus more on Two-Face. Will it be a solo story for him or will there be another, secondary villain included in it?

The way Nolan off-hands this Q makes me think Harvey is turning into Two Face then getting offed in this film.

great interview, that guy asked some really good questions.

honestly, the questions were very good. This is the first time that an interviewer asks Nolan a make-up/perma-white Joker question.

well i think he just lets a bit of a further direction open ...like ...when they want a sequel, do we have more material for it? ...but they figure it out when its time to ...like the speach for the oscar ...to not disappoint anyone by saying oh i've never thought to win what a surprise ...but you need to have like an ace up your sleeve;-)

i like the way he flat out asks about the makeup/bleach thing, but Nolan doesnt get sucked in by it. the man likes to keep people thinking. the sign of a true artistic genius :woot:

Howdy! A long time lurker, first time poster all the way from Finland. My english isn't perfect so I hope you guys just bare with me. First of all, quite the forum you guys have here. There are some movie forums here in Finland, Batman threads etc. but nothing compared to this thing you call SHH. Batman Begins was a big deal here few years ago and now the anticipation for TDK is going through the roof. I think there is something about the character that really connects with the finnish people. Batman has always been such a beloved character here in Finland. And we are calling him "Lepakkomies" by the way. The Joker is "Jokeri" and Two-Face is "Kaksinaama". You just gotta love our language!

But anyway. Such a cool interview! Too bad Chris Nolan doesn't do any commentaries. I think he is a very pleasant guy to listen to and his thougths about film making are alway interesting. I've been watching the Begins DVD extras over and over again just to hear the man talk! Great director without a doubt.

particularly in the case of The Dark Knight, we're attempting to tell a very large, city story or the story of a city.

see, when myself and others used to suggest "Gotham City" as a title for movie three, people here would actually get up and say "oh noes you foolz the movies are about BATMAN, duh!!". Seriously, they would say that. and I got sick and tired of explaining how the title would relate to the BROADER themes of the film. As if it's something difficult to grasp. Thank you, Mr. Nolan.

Nepenthes, I too thought that 'Gotham City' could be a decent title for the third movie!

I like the way the the guy asked the question about make-up as if it was completely confirmed that he wears it; Nolan didn't confirm or deny, if you notice.

fins are crazy! it's interesting how Suomi (sp?) is totally different to Danish,Nowegian and Swedish.and welcome to the hype indeed :)

I think he recently suggested that wasn't really a link to a sequel which is kinda hard to believe.

Isn't it possible that he actually didn't plan to make a sequel?
