Heh, love how he dodged the makeup question. He wants to keep people guessing until the end. ;)I can't see that happening at all. To give us a serious depiction of Two-Face and then kill him off just minutes after his reveal would be an even bigger slap in the face to fans than what Schumacher did with the character.

it could happen.

see: Venom.

You have a point, but Raimi didn't really like Venom to begin with, so it doesn't surprise me that much that he handled him that way. If Raimi'd had his way, Venom wouldn't even have been in the movie. Nolan, on the other hand, has called Harvey Dent the backbone of this story.

Wow Nolan completely side-stepped the makeup/chemical bath issue of the Joker. Interesting.

Yeah, completely dodged that one. I still think there's going to be some twist regarding the make-up that we haven't heard about yet.

Great interview. Those guys at IGM are always on the game when it comes to what the fans want to have answered from those who are associate with comic movies and books.

Not to mention their reviews and listings and I love their monthly power ratings. For my money they are a better website in getting any of the latest info for comicboooks than NewsRama.

And Nolan totally side-step the perma-white issues. :cwink:

That's my guess too. I mean he clearly addressed Hall's role which was speculated over for weeks, so the fact he completely dodged the nature of Joker's appearance is very interesting. Given his penchant for twists and turns in films it definitely means something. He didn't even keep it ambiguous he just didn't answer the question at all.

yeah. good interview

That had just about every question i would ever want to ask Nolan on it. Good interview

great interview, that guy asked some really good questions.

honestly, the questions were very good. This is the first time that an interviewer asks Nolan a make-up/perma-white Joker question.

Yup, excellent job by IGN. They asked three questions I wanted to hear answers to the most: perma-white, thoughts on JLA, and thoughts on another sequel.

IGN: So it's expected that the third film will focus more on Two-Face. Will it be a solo story for him or will there be another, secondary villain included in it?

The way Nolan off-hands this Q makes me think Harvey is turning into Two Face then getting offed in this film.

I have a feeling Two-Face will be offed in this film as well. It's interesting that how Nolan is saying this film is much more about Dent's story arc. I know most people would be quick to dismiss that idea(no Two-Face in part 3) but I can totally see that being the case.

Well, not if they handle him like in The Long Halloween. Two-Face appeared for a while in the end and he went on to appear in Dark Victory. And the ending of TLH was cinematic enough to use.

HEAT, eh? Man oh man, TDK just sounds better & better!

One of the best Nolan interviews I've read in ages, maybe the cocktails helped :woot:

The reporter question is just music to my ears, I've been banging the drum for that for years. Finally we get an interviewer who knows what to ask

Awesome interview! Better than stupid questions like:

"So, wot can we expect from this sequel?"

"uuh..it's....good?"

"Sexcellent!"

This interview is music to my ears.

Everything I was hoping TDK would be, Nolan seems to be confirming. Just a few:

-Joker has no origin. He is an absolute. No shades of grey.
-Dent's arc being a backbone to the film
-Movie focusing on Gotham as a whole. Taking cues from crime epics like Heat.
-Not holding back for sequels. I love that they are pulling out all the stops on this movie (btw, I don't take this to mean Two-Face will be killed). After seeing that crapfest The Golden Compass the other night, I never want to see a movie end halfway through again.

Good questions, although Nolan should be a politician - he's very good at not given a straight answer.

Okay... people are looking too much into the "I don't think in sequels" stuff when it's really, just easy. I think Nolan knows what he will / can do for a third film, but while making, for example, "The Dark Knight" he doesn't think of it as just something before the third film, but tries to make each individual movie as good as possible.

Come on, guys, we all know what happens to movies of which directors think of it as just the part of a big trilogy. Matrix sequels anyone?

I think that's why his films are so engaging. Everything's ambiguous until the end when things all come together.

With his other films I'd agree but I don't think there was much ambiguity in Begins, things were far too clear and simple if anything. But the Joker is the perfect foil for something more mysterious and interesting, here's hoping

I think he means that the story and plot of the film is ambiguous right up until the film's release. You never know exactly what you'll see until you see it.

IGN was right on the ball with this one. Great job! :applaud

Haha, totally. But I'm glad we at least had those questions asked of him. Not anything else we can do now but just wait until the movie arrives to see how things play out.

awesome interview, i cant wait for this movie!!!!

So glad to hear that Harvey is gonig to be the backbone of the story
