Hurt my back, doped up on paim pills. I'll get the rest of my posts up later.
Create a Hero RPG SEASON III Application
Character you have created: Phillip Farley
Alias: Amazing Man
Speech Color: Blue Verdana for Phil, Bold Blue Verdana for Amazing Man
Character Alignment: Hero
Identity: Secret
Character Personality: Phil is the quintessential everyman. A bit of a slacker and a diehard comic geek, he's the model of a "nice guy." He has a wild imagination and unflappable optimism. He's extremely virtuous, and he views the world in very black-and-white terms.
Uniform/Costume: I actually don't have anything in mind at the moment, but maybe someone out there will take a crack at it once they've read the character description?
Origin Info/Details: Our world is one filled with heroes. Some hail from other worlds, possessing natural superhuman powers. Some are born human but through unlikely chains of events they become something greater. Then, there's Phillip Farley. His life is an unspectacular one and doesn't merit much discussion. Almost thirty years-old, he's done nothing of value with his life. Stuck in a dead-end job, dumped by any girl who ever gave him a shot, Phil doesn't have much to look forward to in the morning.
Until today.
Inspired by the stories of valiant heroics all around Lost Haven and the world, Phil has decided to become a superhero. Teaming up with a mysterious inventor known only as "Merlin," Phil outfits himself with high-tech gadgetry which helps him simulate superpowers. He performs his masquerade as Amazing Man, Lost Haven's newest - and most unlikely - hero!
Hero Type: Normal/Tech-Based
Power Level: 2. City Level
Powers: Phil is equipped with a variety of devices intended to mimic superpowers. His gauntlets increase his strength. His suit can generate an anti-gravity field which allows him to fly. His gloves are fitted with miniature Tesla coils and flamethrowers. He's always trying out new things, so you know never quite what he's going to run into battle with.
Attributes:
(Note: Attributes are based on tech enhancements.)

Strength Level: 20
Speed/Reaction Timing Level: Normal Human
Endurance at MAXIMUM Effort: 3 Hours
Agility: 5X Human Level
Intelligence: Average
Fighting Skill: Untrained
Resources: Extreme
Weaknesses: In the end, Phil is just a normal guy. When his devices fail him, he's just as weak as the rest of us. Personality-wise, he's uncompromising in his morals. He won't let innocent people get hurt, which is something his enemies can use against him.
Supporting Characters: Kevin Korver, Phil's coworker and fellow geek. "Merlin," the wunderkind inventor who designs Amazing Man's gadgets. Mrs. Stamp, Phil's elderly landlady. Rebecca Carson, Phil's smokin' hot ex-girlfriend. Ed Wesley, comic book shop owner. Mr. Turkin, Phil's intimidating boss.
List a few reasons why you've created that character: I've always wanted to see a character who pretends to have superpowers. I understand that Booster Gold is roughly based on that concept, but I wanted to take it a step further. Phil really tries to convince people that he has powers. Also, he doesn't have the benefit of being from the future.
What can you bring to the RPG?: Amazing Man is going to be good ol' fashioned Silver Age fun. For instance, note some of the alliterative names. Amazing Man takes us back to a day when good guys were good, bad guys were bad, and the former always beat the latter in the end. As for Phil, his life is going to have all the feel of a good slacker movie.
Do you know how to post pictures on the hype boards?:

Sample Post:
"You did actually read Kick-Ass, right?" Kevin asks, putting down his cup of coffee. He stares at me incredulously. "Like, you know how it ends? And I'm not talking about that bull**** Hollywood crap from the movie. Tell me you know how Kick-Ass really ends."
I shrug. "Yeah, I know how it ends. So what?"
"Dude, people die. His whole f***ing life is ruined. His friends abandon him, his dad is a total f***-up. There's no happy ending, my friend," he reminds me. He takes another bite of his breakfast sandwich before waving it at me animatedly. "There's a reason guys like us don't pretend to be superheroes."
"Kick-Ass was a kid, man," I reply dismissively. "He didn't have his s*** together."
Kevin stops mid-chew to arch an eyebrow. He says mockingly, "Oh, and you do?" He points at me and continues, "No offense, Phil, but it's time to come back to reality. You're almost thirty years-old. You work at a s*** job. You live in a s*** apartment. You barely make rent in said s*** apartment." Kevin sighs. "Dude, if this is about Becca..."
"What? You're out of your mind," I announce defensively. "This has nothing to do with Becca. I'm doing this for me."
"Whatever, man. Look, all I'm saying - and remember that I love you when I say this - is that you are probably the most unlikely superhero ever," Kevin says. The waitress comes by with our check, and Kevin takes it with a smile and a "thank you." He turns back to me and says, "What are you going to call yourself? Captain Fake-It? The Pretender?"
I smirk. "I was thinking more along the lines of Amazing Man."
Once I finish the current arcs I am involved in on the characters I am portraying at the moment, I believe I will be retiring from the RPG section of the Hype to have focus on other writing work that I'm going to pursue for kicks but that I want to be 100% focused on. After the SDCC 2010 trip decided to make certain other changes to focus on specific things and other activities I am in so don't think I'm ditching the RPG section for some other thing I was putting time into this whole time. This is an entirely new and separate thing; I'd never cheat on the Hype.
I'll quote post this in the games I'm currently playing as well for those who do not view this thread often in those games.
From the Bulletin Board thread:
Since I finished the stuff with Leech, though I wasn't 100% pleased with it, I will be dropping Archangel. However this writing I am talking about involves Archangel: I'm gonna work on writing a comic in proper format you would do a script for making comics and my brother is going to draw it. Just for kicks as I mention above of course. But curious where it will go. I will alter a few things that I think would translate better to other eyes aside from the Hype involving his origin but minor things.
Was fun, guys.
I may still do CAH MicroHeroes--which I believe I'm a tad behind on--just because you cannot have CAH without them. D:
I'm not sure, but I think that may be the first use of Craigslist on the RPGs. Haha.EB...the use of Craigslist had my rolling. Well done, lol

Quick question, how do we go about the issue of characters such as Kensai and Archangel who are in the group but assumedly long absent..?
Just mention they haven't been seen for a while..? Just trying to find a consensus position from the big cheeses before I start another post...
Has anything been done with the Grim Reaper? i mean THE bag of bones himself
Brill'ant! But I do believe that Trusty is planning to do something to finish off Michael's story.
