The CW developing "The Tomorrow People" remake

The twist at the end was set up nicely & it makes sense with how Stephen is so powerful

The past few episodes have been pretty good. I've been pleasantly surprised. I really dug the misdirect with Luca, but I wouldn't be surprised if he does break out someday.

Cara's effing up, big time. She's been reckless and blood thirsty as a leader, nothing you want in a leader if you want to live long.

This show will never have anything as awesome as the nineties Tomorrow People episode in which Lord Of The Rings & Star Wars actor Christopher Lee has a cat that fires laser beams at people :woot:

Jedikiah in the original show was a shape shifting alien robot.

Neither beat the production values of the 70s series

I wouldn't be surprised if this and B&TB got cancelled, CW isn't big on ratings but they usually don't like it when you lose so much of your lead ins numbers.

My guess is if the Tomorrow People can keep a decent amount of it's audience when it moves to Monday it will be renewed but that is a huge if(I am guessing sub 1M viewers when it gets the Monday Night Death slot).

When this moves 2 Monday. I guess I won't be watching it live anymore. My Monday TV schedule is already jam packed as it is. Whats coming on after Arrow when this moves ?

You know what I don't get? Why they feel the need to act special effects to their TK. I thin it would look better if they got rid of that stream of mist when they use it.

The 100

http://www.cwtv.com/shows/the-100/about

Ninety-seven years ago, nuclear Armageddon decimated planet Earth, destroying civilization. The only survivors were the 400 inhabitants of 12 international space stations that were in orbit at the time. Three generations have been born in space, the survivors now number 4,000, and resources are running out on their dying "Ark" - the 12 stations now linked together and repurposed to keep the survivors alive. Draconian measures including capital punishment and population control are the order of the day, as the leaders of the Ark take ruthless steps to ensure their future, including secretly exiling a group of 100 juvenile prisoners to the Earth's surface to test whether it's habitable. For the first time in nearly a century, humans have returned to planet Earth. Among the 100 exiles are Clarke, the bright teenage daughter of the Ark's chief medical officer; Wells, son of the Ark’s Chancellor; the daredevil Finn; and the brother/sister duo Bellamy and Octavia, whose illegal sibling status has always led them to flaunt the rules. Technologically blind to what’s happening on the planet below them, the Ark’s leaders - Clarke’s widowed mother, Abby; the Chancellor, Jaha; and his shadowy second in command, Kane - are faced with difficult decisions about life, death and the continued existence of the human race. For the 100 young people on Earth, however, the alien planet they’ve never known is a mysterious realm that can be magical one moment and lethal the next. With the survival of the human race entirely in their hands, THE 100 must find a way to transcend their differences, unite and forge a new path on a wildly changed Earth that’s primitive, intense and teeming with the unknown.

The series stars Eliza Taylor (newcomer) as Clarke, Paige Turco (“Person of Interest,” “Damages”) as Abby, Thomas McDonell (“Suburgatory”) as Finn, Eli Goree (“Emily Owens, M.D.”) as Wells, Marie Avgeropoulos (“50/50“) as Octavia, Bob Morley (newcomer) as Bellamy, Kelly Hu (“X2: X-Men United,” “Arrow”) as Cece, Christopher Larkin (“Squad 85”) as Monty, Devon Bostick (“Aim High”) as Jasper, with Isaiah Washington (upcoming “Blue Caprice,” “Grey’s Anatomy”) as Chancellor Jaha, and Henry Ian Cusick (“Lost,” “Scandal”) as Kane.
From my understanding the show has a big budget and they want to give it a good chance to succeed. I am guessing in the case of Tomorrow People they want to see if it can hold up without the Arrow lead in(else it will be canned)

Putting it on at 9 against whatever is left of The Following ?

As I said the show is on the bubble leaning towards being cancelled, sink or swim time basically. I think they expected a bit more out of the show given the slot it currently has.

and isn't the CW also unloading Star Crossed on us soon?... sounds like Roswell allover again, the only difference being that everyone in the high school KNOWS they're aliens?...

meh, sounds like typical romantic CW pap in rehashing old stuff for a contemporary audience... like I said, meh...

Star Crossed starts next Monday(@8PM), TTP moves to the slot after Star Crossed in a Month(I think TTP still has 1-2 episodes left on Wednesdays)

My guess is The Tomorrow People, The 100, Star Crossed, Carrie Diaries and Beauty and the Beast will all fight for 1-2 spots next season. Of the bunch Carrie Diaries and BatB seem the most likely to be cancelled(unless the first 3 totally crash and burn). Their is an outside chance if the first 3 shows over perform(do better then expected), then Reign might get cancelled(even then I am guessing reign is fairly safe and they would give it a half season order at worse)

Personally I probably should stop putting effort into watching CW shows, in general the ones I start watching always get cancelled(except Arrow). I loved Cult last season but that did terrible from the get go.

I have no interest in Star Crossed. But I will check out The 100

Cult was one seriously whacked show and so were the show's cultists... and Rob Knepper was SO misused in it... he should have steered clear of THAT one...

The guy who was the head "Cultist" is now Stephan's dad in TTP. As for Cult it was given a crappy timeslot(Tuesday's after Heart of Dixie) it was almost doomed to fail from the get go. I think the fact that it was a hard show just to pick up at any given episode didn't help(ie you needed to see the previous episodes to have an idea what is going on)

THAAAT'S who Stephens's dad is... I THOUGHT he looked familiar, but I could just never place him...

The first time I saw him I was like who the hell is that I seen him somewhere before, thank god for IMDB or it would be killing me. lol

Don't insult Roswell like that!

The funny thing is that Mondays used to be CWs best night. So they really just need to get the right shows in there again.

And I think Carrie Diares has a better chance of renewal because it's on Friday so they really expect lower ratings and it has good reviews on its side.

Heart of Dixie will be renewed at least for a half of season because it's 12 episodes away from 100(ie syndication) , they are moving it to Friday Night already and I am guessing it stays there next season

Personally I think what killed Monday nights on the CW was years of having 90210/Gossip Girls drag down the how low ratings for a show can be but still be renewed. First GG was getting less then 2M viewers, then less then 1.5M and now it seems like 1.5M+ is the norm for what the station will allow without cancelling. Pairing up new shows with either of these was basically making new series DOA more often then not

hey, don't get me wrong... I actually liked Roswell... it wasn't ROSWELL I was insulting but the thought and idea of an updated rehash of Roswell, which is what Star Crossed seems to be... do we need one after twelve years?... naaahhh, I don't think so......

I watched the pilot episode screening for The 100, at Comic-Con. I thought it was solid. It was very much Hunger Games, with some Sci-fi space drama as well. I felt that by the end of the pilot, they had subverted some of my perceptions of the show from the beginning of the episode. I was definitely interested in watching more, which is a good thing.

I'd say if you at all liked Hunger Games, or maybe are into the 'Lord of the Flies' type of story...then you'd probably like that pilot episode.

I'm really hoping that The Tomorrow People gets to survive. I thought that with the changes made to Arrow this season, that The Tomorrow People was continuing an interesting trend of new shows that weren't being forced to squeeze in scenes or arcs aimed at the tween fanbase that CW is equated with. I know that B&B is probably them wholeheartedly them begging the tween fanbase to watch them, but atleast they weren't squeezing that stuff into shows that aren't for them. I really just want to see that approach get rewarded.

A Roswell continuation would have been better somehow. We never got 2 see them go home & take back their Planet

instead we got the kids graduated, Liz and Max married and everyone living happily on the run from the US government... :o

and that final bit of dialogue... "my name is Liz Parker... and I'm happy"... my ASS... :whatever:
