The CW's Nikita

I was surprised by how good the pilot was. The CW is a joke of a network, but if they start making shows like this then maybe they can improve. I agree that the pilot had a lot of flaws and I definitely would have gone in a different direction. But, still, it was a lot of fun. There was a lot of action, and well made ones too, and the chicks are hot. So, I can't complain too much.

So, question....

were the flashbacks of that teen Nikita? I only watched the first five minutes, and if I'm right....how did the American-looking teen become Asian? Haha.

Nikita and the American teen are two different characters.

Ahh, okay.

I watched the first couple of minutes while football was on commercials, and then checked out Wiki on the pilot and they totally had that storyline messed up, lol.

But, a goof like that wouldn't have been the worst thing to be on CW :cwink:

The American teen is played by Lyndsy Fonseca, the chick from Hot Tub Time Machine and Kick-Ass. This chick is gonna become the next geek obsession.

Pfft. "Next"?! I've had a hard on for her since like 2007. :o

Maybe I'm crazy, but her character was effin terrible. That entire 90210 recruiting program looked ridiculous.

Anyone buying Shane West as an intimidating figure? Because I'm not.

I like Shane West in general, but I'm gonna need one or two more eps before I see if I can accept him. He's got big shoes to fill, Tcheky Karyo, hell even Gabriel Byrne. And I'd been catching up on the USA Network series all summer, and Roy Dupuis was pretty badass.

I do find it interesting how they're splicing certain details from pretty much every incarnation of the story, including the USA show.

Shane West will always be Agent Tom Sawyer to me.

Therefore, he will always suck.

She is definitely a hottie. Especially in Kick-Ass.

I enjoyed the pilot, Maggie is awesome and it was nice to see her HK background enabling the fight scenes to be shot properly and clearly.
I was certain they were going to replicate the dive down the laundry shoot scene from the movie when she ran into the kitchen after the showdown with Percy.

Giving the big reveal away about Alex so early is an interesting move, but it may mean that future episodes will be built around flashbacks of how they came to meet and come up with this plan, considering it appears an innocent guy was killed in order to get Alex in.

The only thing that bothered me a bit was after she made her escape at the end Michael got the drop on her too easily for someone supposedly so skilled, also they could have come up with something better than "Division" for the bad guys branch. :oldrazz:

The idea of the females all being attractive is b/c they were partially being trained to be honey traps.

1)Ep 2 synopsis

Episode Synopsis: Nikita “2.0″ Episode 2 – Percy (Xander Berkeley) and Michael (Shane West) take their latest assignment, a Slavic leader wanted for war crimes, into protective custody. Nikita (Maggie Q) learns of their hideout and attempts to thwart their plan, but a mysterious group of mercenaries in search of nuclear material beats her to the task. Alex (Lyndsy Fonseca) is activated earlier than expected for a special assignment that throws her into the crossfire of bullets. A flashback reveals a pivotal moment in Nikita’s life.

2) I think you missed the part where they said the hostage was a criminal and that he was someone Division was going to kill.

Attractiveness isn't the problem. Age is. Are all their missions going to require some young person? No forging a background for an experienced such and such?

The difference is that in the show these girls aren't believable as action stars. Lyndsy Fonseca is awesome, but I have a hard time buying her as a tough chick who can kick anyones butt. Especially when she's in the same show as Maggie Q.

When I got home, there wasn't anything else on, so I watched the repeat.

Didn't like it, lol.

Division doesn't seem like they train their assassins very well; everyone who was fighting Nikita were awful.

THAT'S WHO THAT WAS.....

OMG, I watched the whole thing trying to figure out where I knew him from....he was also in that family series with Sela Ward....

You're right I did forget about that line.

I think when not killing they infiltrate via being arm candy, they choose them young because they are mostly runaways with no family ties, you wouldn't find many older people in that situation, plus it's easier to brainwash the young mind looking for a place to belong.

That's sometimes the key to being a good spy, when people look at you and don't think you look like a threat.

Sorry people, I just can't buy Maggie Q as a well trained assassin. But everyone seems to like it so.....

Lol well the original tv series had Section as its name of opperations.

And these youngins are also being trained into becoming killing machines, so I think it is fine if people find it hard to see them as such since well they are in training to become the next Nikita.

Killing someone with a gun ok, but her 105 pound body kicking in double doors and kidnapping a guy..... not so much.

Well she Maggie herself is trained in martial arts so she probably could do a lot of stuff Nikita does.
