The Daily Planet Vol. 2: Superman News and Speculation Thread (🚨TAG SPOILERS🚨)

You should be done by Tuesday.
I watched Superman 1/2, SR, MoS this weekend.

I may check out the more "Krypton origin" episodes of the tv shows. Im surprised HBOMax hasn't curated a Superman "must watch"/best btis list.

The review embargo can't come soon enough...

Box Office predictions in shambles and panic across the Internet thanks to that one embargo breaker.

I've been a superman fan since I was 4. I saw S:TM when it first came out at the theater, and I haven't been this excited for A superman film since SR, even tho that film did let me down..

Wild horses couldn't keep me away from seeing this.

They get so weird about reviews and have such short memories about things. In many ways that place is worse than this place in that regard :wow:

I will admit, I had a bit of a fear/doubt spiral for a few days last week... think i'm just scared to be crushed again. But after rewatching MOS with a friend tonight, I felt a kind of blissful 'calm before the storm' feeling come over me. (It feels like there's going to be a huge response to this movie, one way or another... kinda braced for that).

Because I know for a fact, this movie won't be MOS. It won't be anything like MOS in tone or in characterisation. And that is kind of enough reassurance for me.

Even if this is a poorly constructed, overstuffed, campy film with awkward performances and bad jokes and stilted dialogue... it'll still be Superman with the red trunks back on, saving a squirrel, you know?

It'll still be the Daily Planet staff involved in the action. It'll still be Krypto, and the fortress robots, and Ma Kent and Pa Kent still being alive, cleaning his boots and giving him words of wisdom. It'll still be a 10 minute Clois kissing/banter/arguing scene. It'll still be Steve Lombard with his stupid mustache giving Clark a hard time. It'll still be Superman surrounded by kids who are happy to see him. It'll still be someone on the street helping Superman up during a fight. It'll still be Lex rage baiting Superman while seething with jealousy. It'll still be Lois rallying the DP crew to go save Superman and piloting a T craft.

I could go on and on. My point is... it'll still be so many of the things I want to see in a Superman film. That pretty much guarantees it will be a more enjoyable experience than any previous Superman release of my life.

So i'm just gonna rest in that knowledge and enjoy the ride.

John Rocha (who’s a YouTube critic that co-hosts a podcast with insider Jeff Sneider) has just said three different critics reached out to him privately all disliking the film? saying “it was a mess” and he expects the movie to get mixed reviews.

Starts at the 30:00 mark.

I felt slightly worried then until I saw Jeff Sneider...

So now we have reached the point where everyone looks for anything negative and posts it here?

I swear some people either want to be miserable or just want others to be.

Do people do this in threads for other fandoms? Are Marvel threads like this? Honest question because I stick to threads of the films I am interested in so I never see it.

The best part of following a film is the anticipation during the build and those last days leading in and it just kind of feels like half of us are trying to crush that for fear of bad reviews or something. Just enjoy the ride...

I am a fan of sports teams that tend to disappoint in the end...but that doesn't mean I'm not going to enjoy it until the last second. What's the point?

Sorry I dont mean to be preachy I know its annoying I just am sick of anxiety ruining everything. The world sucks enough I'm not going to let anxiety destroy my escapism as well.
