The Daily Planet Vol. 2: Superman News and Speculation Thread (🚨TAG SPOILERS🚨)

One of the things I really enjoyed about the sneak peak was how much it highlighted the suit and David's growth.

If I remember correctly, I thought Gunn mentioned awhile back that there was no muscle suit and this was all David.

I love that we are past the overly padded, shaded muscle suits.

The more I see the suit, the more I agree with those who say that the suit reveal was a misstep. It's such an unflattering picture of the suit when compared to what we're seeing from the leaks and official footage. These high profile productions really should schedule an official photo session with the cast right before they start shooting, so they can release whatever images they need and not have to worry about taking mediocre shots the last minute on set before they shoot outdoor scenes.

But with the sneak peek, I've definitely come around to loving the suit! Even most of the decorative lines, which I initially had an issue with, really add a lot to the silver age vibe that James is going for...though I still would've dialed it back a smidge. Regardless, the colors are PERFECT and I love that it's 100% David's physique that fills the suit.

“292 times Saharan prime…”

So, after hearing this in the sneak peek and watching a recent breakdown of the sneak peek by Erik from New Rockstars, my curiosity compelled me to have a little fun deducing this, going off of that video and my own calculations.

“Saharan” is probably referring to the temperature in the Sahara Desert, “Prime” the hottest it can get, which is 47°C or 117°F, and “292 times”, obviously, saying how much it needs to be magnified or multiplied. Doing the math, it comes out to 13,724°C, or 34,164°F. Just for comparison, the surface of the Sun, the source of Superman’s power, is 5,500°C or 10,000°F.

On top of all of the severe internal damage sustained by his injuries being rapidly healed and mended back together, he is taking a direct blast of more than three times unfiltered direct solar rays from the frickin’ Sun. So, the reason why he’s yelling like he’s in such extreme pain and agony, well, it’s because he is! 😅😅😅

As a whump fan, I don't really care why it's hurting him. I'm just glad it is 😅
Yeah, it was just a fun little exercise. Ultimately, I also don’t actually care about it and it doesn’t really matter to me either way. :oldrazz:

You suffer extreme damage to your internal vital organs and then have them go through a rapid healing process, I don’t care how powerful or strong you are, that s**t’s going to f**king hurt like a motherf**ker.

I was still in middle school for the first one. And I'll be single for the other two. :p

I can't believe we're that guy now man lol. I was 18 when SR came out and met my soon to be wife only three months after that. Just turned 37 last week. I honestly have no clue how we got here in age. Time is not real:woozy: Yep, Lill is definitely a baby (I say that a lot to young co-workers as well).

Excuse me while I go fetch my cane lol. Lawd.

I remember seeing Superman Returns in theaters with my brother and best friend. I think we all collectively were pretty meh on it. (I was 14 my brother a year younger, and my buddy a year older than me lol.) I think we all felt we were better off watching Smallville lol! That takes me back...

Man of Steel, I really loved it out of the theater. Besides the neck snap, and Pa Kents characterization. I remember it was a huge group of us. My parents/friends parents... They were pretty lukewarm on it, but generally most of my friends liked it.

Can't wait to see this one with my brother/best friend too. Kinda crazy to think how much time has passed since SR...

@Tra-El You got a spare cane? 😭

I watched a snippet of it and had to exit out from the cringe lol. Apparently, Superman gave him torrets. It's all just weird behavior.

I use to love Tyrone's channel, but I checked out a few years back. Some of his takes got to be so bad. And hey, he's has a right to voice them... but he just got less entertaining to me personally as time has went on. I did click on his reaction to the sneak peak though... but it seemed like a forced crash out lol.

Tyrone is a Snyder loyalist but he also is catering to his right wing fanbase. He has taken a stand against Star Wars and Marvel. Reminds me of Geeks and Gamers. To me know one is worse than Grace as her hatred for Gunn knows no bounds. If the movie is what where hearing with the action Tyrone will say good things.

If it makes you feel any better I was 26 when SR came out...

Well Grace hates everyone who points out she is a lying POS.

I actually was a Grace fan until the last year when she obviously started shilling for Disney and pissed on everything WB. Now all of a sudden she is trying to give Superman a chance because he fanbase turned on her.
