The Daily Planet Vol. 2: Superman News and Speculation Thread (🚨TAG SPOILERS🚨)

This is not how opposites work.

Also do you think if something is grounded, it can't be fun?

I'm just joshin' ya. There really wasn't a direction headed there. As for the grounded question, I think anything can be fun in the eye of the viewer. I'm not the sorcerer to set those subjective standards. So, sure. Yes.

I give Gunn credit tho. It looks like he did what Reeves did for his Batman. The tone, color, score, overall feel, he went for it. This feels like the most Superman comic come to life. I’m fully onboard. I expect the main general audience to like it as well. Just a vibe.

Having said that! I still prefer the alternate/darker versions of the character. I will hard chew all them jollyranchers till the end!

@flickchick85 and I watching Superman

Didn’t notice the entire Fortress rotating until someone pointed it out.

You about to get the wrath of Snow!
That does make me wonder if there are any plans for the other movie heroes. Excluding Guy because we already know he's showing up on Lanterns, I feel like Mr. Terrific, Hawkgirl and Metamorpho were not put here to be one-offs, so I'm curious to learn what the plan is for them. With the Plastic Man rumors alive and well, I'm leaning toward something to do with the Terrifics, which I think this team might be an early version of, but idk.

My April Fool's joke on myself.

Any minute now. :o

Rewatching the Fandango interview and now knowing the leaks were true, I just realized David caught himself almost giving away something big when talking about Krypto. Before settling on "It's sort of a foster situation" as a correction, he goes "Krypto's just been..." as in, "Krypto's just been dropped off with him"or "been left in his care," and had to figure out a way to say it without alluding to Kara. :hehe:

I've said this a few times before, but this is what I incredibly respect when it comes to directors like Gunn and Zack (both a hot rod in their directing styles for differing reasons) is how unapologetic they are in their personal craft. When a studio hires directors in their vein, you damn well better recognize that you are getting a committed style of their stamp of approval. The audience is getting a full blown movie in their bloodline.

James was apprehensive when it came to taking on Superman at first (probably even a few more times than that) and purposely sidestepped the character. But it takes balls to not only accept a co-head position of a newly found; yet under scrutiny studio in the midst of spearheading a reboot, but also circling back around to a character that intimidated you to take a tough and iconic IP head on and follow through with doing it. I don't know how that can't be respected in its own right, no matter if you like the guy or not. I feel the same about Zack. What you see is what you get. Period. Gunn is a comic book guru, so him leaning full throttle into that is something we truly never got with Superman. We will now.

In a nutshell, they are all alternates to each other. Every story, I feel, is important to tell. Pass me over the bag of Jollyranchers when Zack gets his legacy JL Final Crisis sequel down the road.

I like sour apple.

Now my question is where's Streaky?

Footage looks terrific. As someone who wanted them to move away from the Donner design of the fortress, I’m impressed how good it looks. I love it actually. Everything else looks great too.

Also how many of those 14 fractures were from Krypto? :funny:
