Dude just exudes Superman
Yeah, this Superman has a little bit of a Batman Begins-like uphill battle of getting the public to "trust in the character's potential to lead a great movie" again, if that makes sense.Yeah that is true. But yeah, I totally agree that this film has to contend with both of the previous Superman films being duds. Hopefully it does have a huge opening and WOM keeps it going. I do worry that general fatigue of the genre is possibly the biggest obstacle but maybe, just maybe, the fatigue right now is with Marvel and movies that are sub-par, or even really good movies that feature various characters that the GA doesn’t really know or care about going into it (i.e., Thunderbolts). I’m hoping Superman still has enough popularity and feels significant enough that people aren’t just like, “Oh, it’s another superhero movie.”

Man of Steel, on the other hand, had BIG FAT "FROM PRODUCER CHRISTOPHER NOLAN" going for it marketing-wise, right after he had finished his insanely successful trilogy (and sporting a similar vibe and aesthetic as those movies -- if you notice, the movie's not quite "all out Zack Snyder" as much as BVS is )...
...and ended up not quite satisfying the public's imagination of a Chris Nolan-produced Superman.
BVS, again, had the very first big screen meeting between Batman and Superman , and the very first attempt at creating a DC Universe... and again ended up not satisfying the public's imagination of such an endeavour.
It also ended up souring some of the public on both Batman and Superman. I have friends who haven't even given The Batman a chance because they lost interest in the character ( thinking that it may have ultimately "jumped the shark" once the TDK trilogy ended). And that's a character that has been generally more popular with audiences.
I heard good things about Thunderbolts but it will be a Disney + watch for me. I am going to watch Captain America Brave New World this weekend. The MCU to me is a Disney + watch like the DCEU at the end became a Max watch. Superman will be my first Superhero movie in theater since Guardians 3.Thunderbolts is great. The box office is concerning but that might be due to the fact that it features a bunch of characters that aren’t particularly well known, aside from Bucky. And it may also be because people are weary of the Marvel brand after duds like Ant-Man, Brave New World, The Marvels and Eternals.
But… it could also be superhero fatigue, that’s definitely possible. And if so, then Superman could also suffer. But I guess we’ll see.
You missed out on Thunderbolts IMO.I heard good things about Thunderbolts but it will be a Disney + watch for me. I am going to watch Captain America Brave New World this weekend. Because it's a really good movie. Why exactly does Thunderbolts need to be seen in a theater as soon as it comes out, over waiting until it comes out on Disney Plus?
Because nothing beats watching a movie on the big screen. Why exactly does Thunderbolts need to be seen in a theater as soon as it comes out, over waiting until it comes out on Disney Plus?
I think the marketing sucked for that film and the concept is more "streaming" than theater.Thunderbolts is great. I don’t typically watch event films, big sequels or franchise films for the first time at home, I Just, DON’T!Why exactly does Thunderbolts need to be seen in a theater as soon as it comes out, over waiting until it comes out on Disney Plus?
Before I get lambasted, this was merely done for fun and boredom. I love everything as it is and I can't wait for this film. It was done on my phone, so I know it's not done well.

No on both accounts. The trailers have been cool since the first one featuring Where is my mind.I think the marketing sucked for that film and the concept is more "streaming" than theater.
100%No on both accounts. The trailers have been cool since the first one featuring Where is my mind.
It's another one suffering from the Batman Begins uphill of mistrust. More people catching up on Thunderbolts will regret not seeing it earlier/in theaters, I'm sure about that.
I still think behind the scenes featurettes for upcoming projects would be something different and cool. After watching the last few Marvel movies including Deadpool and Wolverine, I hope Superman stays away from post credit scenes and end of the movie set ups. I know Supergirl is finished filming and is coming out the summer of 2026 but when they do introduce Kara make her organic to the Superman movie. Marvel has gone off the rails with those scenes that I don’t understand what is happening. Multiverse, Kang, New Avengers, X-Men, ect it’s confusing.
I am going to a Superman movie. I want to enjoy big blue. I don’t want to be sitting in the theater looking for hints at Batman or Wonder Woman.I still think behind the scenes featurettes for upcoming projects would be something different and cool.
