The Daily Planet Vol. 2: Superman News and Speculation Thread (🚨TAG SPOILERS🚨)

Changed it based on what though? They released the extended scene with Minecraft, before its ridiculous success. Sinners was always coming on the 18th so i don't think they were ever intending on stepping on that, Superman Day or not.

Releasing that then another 2min trailer two weeks later would definitely and immediately reverse all the bad takes about no marketing into even worse takes about overmarketing lol
I mean a big chunk of the general audience got to see the extended scene so maybe WB/DC will hold back the second trailer. Maybe market Superman more like Barbie.

What do you mean?

Yeah, that's what they were doing already lol it wasn't an accident is what I'm saying.

What do you mean?
Barbie had a teaser in November and the next trailer did not come until May. Similar to Barbie Superman has David, Nicholas, and Rachel doing interviews while promoting other movies. Margo and company was doing that as well. I can see Superman get promotions from McDonald’s that will really speed up the marketing campaign.

Just so we're clear, this isn't an odd marketing strategy or specific to Barbie. This is the usual for big summer tentpoles, especially at WB. Getting a trailer/footage on holiday release and then a proper trailer inside the usual 3 month pre-release window is the norm.

We just want some action but you are correct sir.

Barbie:
Teaser was Dec 16, 2022;
Trailer 1 - April 4, 2023;
Footage (from Trailer 2) shown at CinemaCon - April 25;
Trailer 2 - May 25.
The marketing really ramped up in May and June.

So yeah, around Memorial Day we might get the next trailer, but I hope it's a little sooner. I think the next trailer/clip needs to show more Clark and his relationships. Plus, dialog from the characters - Lois and Lex, in particular.

All I know is I saw the Thunderbolts trailer and said in the theater...WHY? So keep Superman away from that dreck ;)

It does make me wonder what the running joke with Thunderbolts is presuming it has something to do with Ross.

“So I see those nerds are still nitpicking everything related to this movie to hype up Cavill. They did the same thing with The Batman, why do we ALWAYS have to deal with—”

*sees a trending post on Twitter hyping up Tim Story’s F4 in an effort to **** on the MCU*

“Okay, whew, I guess it’s not just us.”

But like for real, Shield Ben was peak. :o

Remember folks, in this day and age we will know within 20 to 30 mins opening night if it's any good, or not.
.
Huh? What does that have to do with anything we were talking about?

Remember when Bryan Singer planted an entire cornfield for Superman Returns and it was for a deleted scene and the first flight scene?

I remember that James Marsden and Parker Posey both felt more like Superman and Lois than the actual actors they cast for Superman and Lois, even though they were playing completely different characters.
