The Daily Planet Vol. 2: Superman News and Speculation Thread (🚨TAG SPOILERS🚨)

The energy that emanates from the footage is really perfect: it's dynamic, colorful, heroic... Nothing to say!
And it's great to see Corenswet talking more and more while wearing the cape: he seems very natural and already confirms that he's the perfect actor for this role.
Having now watched the third GOTG, I believe Gunn can rein himself and that he'll be able to deliver a Superman that has his own touch but without distorting anything about this beloved character.

But at the risk of becoming a Debbie Downer... am I the only one who finds this, apparently, use of the wide angle for most shots a little odd?

The fact that YouTube compress the sh*t out of everything and never do justice to heavely CGIed footage is definitely also playing a part in my reaction, but most of the action shots look very odd to me.
I get that they're going for a certain degree of stylization (and that's all I'm asking, btw), but... I'd be lying if I said that the execution of certain shots didn't take me out of the thing a bit.

To put it simply, I really enjoy the art direction, but I'm (for now) a little iffy on the way it's all captured on screen.

This would be the perfect thing to announce at comic con a few weeks after the movie releases, why not just bring things full circle?

To borrow an overused expression, this is “Hollywood's worst-kept secret”.

I was willing to bet that Gunn would direct BATB himself, but it looks like it's going to be WF.
In any case, I'm pretty sure he'll have Batman in his next project, whatever it may be.

Am I the only one that wants a direct sequel that doesn't involve Batman? It would feel like a complete retread of going from MOS to BvS.

I definitely want Superman to have standalone sequels, but would have no problems with the next one being World's Finest. Especially since I trust James Gunn with the characters and material, and know that it wouldn't be a weird Nolan Dark Knight/Miller Dark Knight Returns/Death of Superman-lite mash up working its way towards Injustice.

I'm also way more excited about the idea of a Justice League movie now in a way I wasn't during the DCEU. Bring it on, give me everything. I've never been this excited about seeing the DC *UNIVERSE* on film/TV rather than just the single movies on their own.

General sale tickets are live for me.
Just got mine, the showing I went for on the 11th was already 1/2 gone.

LOL at Lois' reaction! "HOLY SH-"

And "Good luck with THAT." I love that David's Superman can be the big blue boy scout but still be a bit of a wise a**.

EDIT: I went ahead and edited my post for people who might not have watched the TV spots.

I have a few apps open waiting for whichever one goes live with tickets first.

The action looks great on the big screen whenever I see trailers before films. Doesn't look that odd to me.

If anyone is looking for tickets in the UK - try Vue cinema.
They're putting on 'Hero Screenings' on opening night. If you book a showing with them, you get a copy of All Star Superman.

I am trying to like the idea of WF but nothing about it seems like a good idea...sure the script will be better than BvS was but there is no doubt those comparisons will be made meaning we will have another 2-3 years of hearing about Snyder and how Gunn is just ripping him off. Plus, you might have two films with two different Batmen filming at the same time...not exactly ideal.

I am not saying I wont support the film if/when it is announced because duh I totally will, but I bet there are better ideas out there. JMHO.

I'm reading the Entertainment Weekly article and I LOVE how David recognizes the comparisons to Tom Welling and Christopher Reeve, but also gives respect to those past interpretations while insuring that this is something new.

And then there's Rachel. The way she speaks about that interview scene seems like comes at a critical point in the movie, or a least is going to be a heavy emotional moment.

It was beautiful to hear her talk about how it's BECAUSE they see the world so differently that they kind of need each other. Both actors have REALLY done their homework.
