Side by side. To my eyes David looks as big or maybe even bigger than Henry.
To say otherwise is just trolling at this point.

Those photos aren't even to scale. Cavill is sized much bigger (his feet are off the bottom of the image) despite being shorter.

David is definitely much bigger in absolute terms. He is 3 inches taller than Cavill and has a naturally better structure, with wider shoulders (see their heads vs shoulder widths) and longer limbs. Cavill is without question more muscular for his frame, but Corenswet doesn't need as much muscle to to look like Superman because of his natural frame and structure.

The other benefit to David's structure is that he can hide his physique better in street clothes since he isn't as reliant on just muscle mass to look the part. Cavill's Clark Kent disguise was laughable. He looked like he was going to burst out of his sport coat at any second:

The one thing that always bugged me about Cavill's Clark was there was absolutely zero contrasting characteristics between his Clark and Superman.

What is even the point of him wearing glasses of he's not going to try to do anything to distinguish his Clark from his Superman? It just makes the glasses disguises all the more silly, especially in a world in which is supposed to be more grounded and serious. Didn't make sense tonally with the film.

Honestly, if Snyder wasn't going to try to mask his Clark, he might as well have gone all in and just built a world in which everyone knows Clark is Superman.

Ahem... Batmania '89

i was there to experience batmania '89.

it was wild. there was so much excitement building up for it.
i honestly don't think there has been anything as hyped and as huge since then.

i was there opening night - at oakland's iconic grand lake theater. the line stretched down a few blocks from what i remember.

it was one of the biggest lasting memories i have.

superman '25 feels like it's going to be a huge pop culture event as well, but still not on that level that batman '89 was.
somehow social media has oddly made everything feel smaller now.

oh yea for sure, that was probably the next biggest one next to batman '89.

they were really savvy with utilizing the internet and social media for that ARG.

engagement levels over 9000!

Not to forget Spider-Man 2002 outside of Warner Bros

i pre-ordered tickets for my family and i for the 2nd weekend of this.

i usually avoid opening weekends now - too many people and too many lines, i'm too old for that sh** now :whoops:

i should probably go dark starting the week of when this is released. :supes:

Speaking of The Dark Knight. One thing that gives me hope for this film’s quality is that while we’ve heard that WB is very confident in it, I haven’t heard anyone liken it to The Dark Knight in anyway. WB always seems to do that whenever they have a turd on their hands. I remember some comments about BvS and (I think) The Flash where they claimed it was the next TDK or something. Perhaps the worst example was some suit at WB claiming that Peter Sarsgaard’s Hector Hammond in Green Lantern was on the level of Heath Ledger’s Joker.

peter sarsgaard redeemed himself by playing gil couson in the batman

DC style redemption.

like edi gathegi gonna get redemption as mr. terrific for his role as darwin in xmen first class. haha

Yeah I’m surprised the Green Lantern experience didn’t scare Sarsgaard off CBMs for life.

I took my then 12 year old daughter to see TDK at midnight.
We saw several people dressed up as the joker and Batman.
Keep in mind we were in the deep south.
The hype was real.

Is dressing up still a thing people do for movies these days? I can remember the last time I saw anyone do it. I just mean in regular theaters. The only times I remember seeing people do it at movies I attended were Revenge of the Sith (some doofus was in a Vader costume) and The Matrix Reloaded.

The cult keeps comparing Superman to Guardians of the Galaxy. So you never know.

Well, Guardians of the Galaxy is brilliant , spawned a beloved trilogy and turned niche Marvel characters into A-listers. Cool! It's not the L they think it is lol

Exactly. It was good irony. In trying to be less silly, it becomes more so.

the tone and style of the GoTG films is a better fit for a superman film that hews closer to the comics as well.

and that looks like what we are getting here.

if this is a critical and box office hit, the snyder cult can keep crying.

gonna be cool to see if hawkgirl, mr terrific, metamorpho, and krypto! become A-listers.
