Speaking of The Dark Knight. One thing that gives me hope for this film’s quality is that while we’ve heard that WB is very confident in it, I haven’t heard anyone liken it to The Dark Knight in anyway. WB always seems to do that whenever they have a turd on their hands. I remember some comments about BvS and (I think) The Flash where they claimed it was the next TDK or something. Perhaps the worst example was some suit at WB claiming that Peter Sarsgaard’s Hector Hammond in Green Lantern was on the level of Heath Ledger’s Joker.

Not to forget Spider-Man 2002 outside of Warner Bros

This one always slips through the cracks when people talk about comic book films that had a lot of hype. I still haven’t seen another Spidey flick reach the fever pitch that this one did prior to release and I’m including the two Raimi films that followed. Spider-Man was everywhere in the lead up to that film and the anticipation was palpable.
