For the first time in my DVD-collecting career, I'm going to buy the bare bones 1-Disc edition of a movie.

I think he means smaller than 30 inches.
Anyone using a computer monitor these days and watches HD trailers have probably already benefited from HD without even knowing it.

Yea not everyone has got a 720p TV. I'm talking about your old school box T.Vs and the not brand new or brilliant HD TVs.
Considering that you can't even watch high-def content on regular tv's, isn't that obvious? I'm talking about comparing standard and HD when watching any type of hdtv. There IS a difference.

I was planning on buying the biggest/bestest TDK blu ray special edition out there..

But. the batpod edition really doesnt interest me

Thats what I was looking to do. Just get the biggest package, and dont look back. Thats what I did when BB was re released. But, the extras leave me a little understimulated (I'm getting the DVD 2-discs). I think I might just get a BR player for my living room instead. I want the one with the most stuff:whatever:

The Blu-ray has more stuff than the DVD 2 disc. Though not a ton more but it does have more and will probably have more content provided in the future.

What are you talking about? You pay for the bundle, and the gift card is part of that bundle...

If you actually price all of those items, the total is around $580-590. That bundle is basically giving you $115 of stuff for free.

I'm just not interested in the Batpod case thingy.. Kinda tacky IMO :o

The current 80 GB PS3 is priced at $399.99 and you got nothing extra with it. So people are paying around $400 regardless. So for that extra $100 your spending on this bundle and shipping and handling you can get The Dark Knight on Blu-ray, 3 other Blu-ray movies of your choice, a free game, and a PS3 remote. So basically the extras seperately are a $130-$150 without this bundle. So the person would be getting a Blu-ray player and kickstarting their collection with The Dark Knight while saving close to $50. Not the greatest deal but still a decent one.

But yeah sorry for trying to post deals for people on the lookout for reasonably priced player I will stop if it really is such a bother.

:huh::whatever::huh:

Yeah, and its used towards anything you want to buy *drum roll please* for free. So, you can either buy a 80g PS3 for $400 with nothing, then buy the remote for $30, and then buy TDK on Blu-Ray for $30-$40, and spend more on just that, then getting a bundle with a free game and a few more movies.

I don't really understand why you care, nor are knocking on someone who is trying to help out the community to find good package deals on Blu-Rays, to enjoy TDK when it comes out.

I agree he's just trying to help people out.

Not trying to be the smart ass, but on the contrary, I thought you've been up to date on what the DVD will include. I'm sorry if I came off contrived, as some people have been talking $hit concerning the TDK DVD release. Again, I'm sorry if you were asking a real question regarding the DVD, as you asked "bundle" when we were talking about a PS3 bundle. As for those questions, I'm not the best to answer, so I'll leave it up to the experts.;)

But again, I didn't mean to be rude if you were being truthful on your questions.:cwink:

Oh yeah, I have no doubt that what you said is correct. Especially if they do a director's cut to get more seats in the theaters come re-release time.

There is no director's cut. The theatrical cut is the only version of the film. Nolan has said this himself.

Here at Mexico they are giving a wall clock if you pre-order it at Mix Up, one of the big stores:

Since most DVD's now carry multiple language tracks I always thought that the U.S. DVD's were simply imported to spanish speaking countries or bootleggers simply sold pirated movies.

When my dad went to Ecuador a few years back he brought back a couple pirated DVD's that were being sold for $1.

Does WB care? They'll add some deleted scenes in & pay Nolan not to be mad.

I don't think the Oscars alone will put many seats in the theaters, especially with the DVD already out when it's re-released.

You don't understand. Nolan says there aren't any deleted scenes there are just alternate takes of scenes.

Technically a few of these so called "alternate takes" should really be referred to as extended footage(Batman running on the cop cars to get to the Batpod after interrogation scene) as well as A(1) deleted scene which is with Joker in the back of the car after the penthouse party scene.

Now, it is in fact possible that WB not Nolan could put these back in the film just to milk as much money as they can from this film. Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing it put back in.

Don't get me wrong, I love the movie as is, but those additions definitely wouldn't hurt.

I also forgot about the footage from the trailer of Batman in the Tumbler leaving his new base of operations. The one where it's fish tailing a bit like he's really in a hurry. That was obviously filmed but cut out too.

Of course that is what I mean by alternate takes. Some scenes may have been extended a few seconds but I wouldn't exactly call those deleted scenes. Everything that was cut I am sure was do just to trim the running time of the final film and because they didn't really add anything to the film at all other than looking at something a bit longer.

What I mean is that there was no other dialogue or action scenes filmed and cut from the theatrical version. At least that is what Nolan says. Even so they won't re-release The Dark Knight until a minimum of a year passes which is why I think people passing on the version coming out now just because they are upset about the extras makes me scratch my head.

I severely doubt a "Director's cut". I'm not saying the footage doesn't exist (we've all seen it in the trailers and TV spots), but I cannot see WB or Nolan recutting the film, even if it were for a quick profit.

Like I had previously said, Nolan definitely wouldn't be behind it and if WB did do it, it would most likely be an "Extended Cut" not "Director's Cut".

When money is involved I wouldn't be surprised if WB let alone any studio would do that.
