Okay folks. Got a few questions.

1. I heard that they are going w/ the Killing Joke origin. This true?

2. Have the villians been confirmed?

3. Is it true the script is finished already?

OK:

1. Unknown at this point. Nolan has said that he'll be using TKJ as inspiration for TDK, and it's has been rumored we'll see a orgin in TDK. Wether they use TKJ of the orgin remians to be seen at the moment

2. Only the Joker at this point. Goyer said in an interview Dent will be in TDK also. Pengiun, Black Mask, Maroni have been rumored.

3. It's been rumored that a treatment as been written. I've heard nother on the actual shooting script itself though.

The Penguin isn't confirmed in TDK, no truth to Hoffman as Penguin.

Yes, but Nolan mentioned The Penguin, because thir character is going to apper in sequel.

And you know why did Nolan do this?

Because he didn't want to tell anything about Phillipe as Dent rumours.

I haven't given Phillippe enough of a chance. Maybe I'll watch his new movie with Jesse Bradford when it comes out

Check out Gosford Park and Cruel Intentions.

Gosford Park (besides being an awesome movie) not only shows his range as an actor but also shows that he can stand in the same room with some of the greatest actors in film and stage and not be overpowered. Which is obviously needed for TDK.

Cruel Intentions will give you a good idea of how subtle but evident he is at a complete 360 change in demeanor.

Well, as for me, I don't think Phillippe is so bad choice like fans are trying to figure it.

I've always meant to see Cruel Intentions but never got around to it

Its a pretty good modern take on Les Liasons Dangereuses. It also has Reese Witherspoon (whom Ive loved since Freeway: a very dark take on Little Red Riding Hood) and Selma Blair (Sherman from Hellboy).

Yeah I know the one.

Freeway is awesome BTW.

not to mention the fact that Kiefer looks like Two-Face in that movie

I have a question. Remember back when BOF reported that the production crew was trying to get an Oscar-worthy actor for the Joker? Along with that report it also said, and I'm paraphrasing here, that the production crew was looking to cast a femme fatale wanting revenge; Which led to the Rachel Weisz as Talia rumor.

So my question is;
Is this "femme fatale looking for revenge" still supposed to be in The Dark Knight?
I would like to hope so. Also I wish Nolan would confirm Penguin.

Yes, that was the report where the "Oscar-worthy actor" was believed to be Johnny Depp. Mainly due to him having the POTC sequel coming out during the summer. There hasn't been anything of recent on Weisz, nor Talia even having the role of "revenge". Though, if we do here something, it should be when other character's are schedueled for confirmation. (Black Mask, Leslie, Arkham, Penguin etc).

I'm sure he will sooner than we think. Probably when we hear more on the thought of the "second" main villain, as well as nearing the end of who will eventually play Harvey. I want to hear more of the "British arms dealer" angle, honestly. Also, Hoffman's involvement, or if there's another actor being brought into the fold.

edit:
You know what, nevermind, I just realized there is small chance an interview will take place without BOF making it available :p

I don't want Harvey Dent being a DA in the film. :down

Also, i know that it was said Chris was going to be using a lot of old Joker stories. batman issue 1 is one I know he's using. Can anyone tell me what his crime was in that issue?

thanks.

IIRC, The Joker was publicly announcing that he would be killing various rich folk and stealing jewels and such from them. Despite the fact that he gave the police warning, Joker was still able to carry out his threats in various clever ways, even so far as one victim being killed even though completely surounded by Cops.

And why exactly would you want to extract that part of the character, when he was a District Attorney during his debut, 64 years ago?

In his first appearance, he announced he was going to kill a specific person, at a specific time, and while doing so, steal a rare diamond. When the time hit, the man he killed, who was actually the owner of the diamond, is dead in front of the police. The readers are then told that Joker had actually poisoned the man 24 hours before (the poison took 24 hours to take effect), and that his announcement of the crime was only after he had committed it. That's how he was able to get away with it.

sorry...you're right Batman, about Harvey. :O

And thanks to you and Bathead for the Joker info.

BTW, Batman, do you have the Adam West pic in your avatar in original form? It's so awesome!

It's actually the original size, only hosted. The picture itself isn't that big.

Here's a larger version.
