I'm Not Sure How He Will Be As The Joker But I Guess We'll Have To Wait And See. Bb Was One Of The Best Movies Made Next To Spiderman.
I think Bale as Batman has enough pull to bring in the female audiences. But add Ledger to that and women definately wont need a love interest to go see the movieKatsuro said:I'd think it would be the opposite. You need a love interest of some sort to attract a female audience.
Besides, Katie Holmes is cute, but not cute enough to make me spend $10 on a movie I wouldn't see otherwise.

So far I am dissapointed with Ledger being chosen, not that I wish him any bad luck or stomach flus...![]()
such a young Joker...all I can say is wow, just wow![]()
as real as burtons world was....the music and action was cartoonyOctoberist said:again, I feel like Nolan's world is as realistic as Burton, but just a different interpetation.

I can only imagine how it would be if you were pessimistic.SHADOWBAT69 said:Okay. This is my thought(s) on the whole sequel thing so far. I do like the title The Dark Knight. Im not real excited about Ledger being cast as Joker. I just dont care for him as an actor. Im also worried about Nolans "realistic" approach towards the Batman "world". As for the Penguin being announced as a second villain (as per BOF's release) Im wondering how big a role he will have in the movie. To me, Joker and Penguin are the top 2 rogues and to have them both in the same flick may be overkill. The announcement that the role was offered to Phillip Seymour Hoffman, cool. After seeing him in Mi3, I think he could do a good job. Having said that, Im not sure what the characterization Nolan plans on giving Penguin. It is said that he is going to be a British arms dealer with designs on taking over Gotham and goes by the nickname, The Penguin. This isnt the character, but i will wait for further details before final judgement.
I have worries about this franchise, to say the least. The popular saying on the SHH boards is "In Nolan I Trust". Please. He is, after all, a Hollywood director. He only has a couple films under his belt (to my knowledge) Insomnia and Memento, both which i found to be very boring films. His latest, The Prestige does show some promise for me. Begins, to me, I found to be wuit unentertaining. A bit dull and, yes, boring. Was it a good story? Yes. However i feel it was a drab Batman film. The confrontation of Batman and Joker, whether it be comics, cartoons, or movies, should be huge. Im not sure if Nolan can deliver it. Again, Ill wait until more movie details become available before final judgement, but i, thus far, have low expectations.
I also have another thing running thru my mind, and let me share this with you. In 1988 when WB started the first big Batman project since the 60's they wanted something completely different and unique to bring new life to the Batman character. They found this with Tim Burton. Batman 1989 was huge. We all know this. Due to the success of 89, WB allowed Burton to do the sequel giving him more of an opertunity to do his vision. Thus, Batman Returns. Returns didnt make as much as 89 and, to this day, is almost split 50/50 with the fans. WB then wanted a new director to bring a more action/family accessable summer blockbuster to the franchise. Enter Joel Schumacher. Forever was a big hit in the summer of 95. Batman was back. Beause of the success of Forever, WB instantly greenlit another sequel and gave Schumacher the reigns to continue his vision. We got Batman and Robin, Schumachers "comic book" come to life. Now, 8 years later, Nolan shows up with his vision and brings back some respectability to the character as well as a more "realistic" look. Begins did well and embraced by most of the fanbase and critics. WB gives the go ahead for Nolan to do his sequel. Is this going to follow suit with all the other directors sequels? Is this going to be an even more "realistic" view of the Batman characters and world? Statements have already been made as to how he wants to approach Joker and Penguin. Time will tell, but as i said above, I remain very optimistic.

Sharkboy said:Memento! BORING?! Well if you found that movie dull and boring then you might as well just forget about enjoying The Dark Knight, this movie wouldnt be for you. It wont have explosions every 10 minutes or mindless action scenes. You know thats the problem with people nowadays the attention span has gone down the toilet films have been reduced to big shock moments and explosions. Now movies just forget about the story all together.
Im sorry if this sounds pretentious and pompous, i just don't think you have any decent taste in what is a good film and what isnt if you didnt enjoy a film like memento, which is in my opinion (and many many many others) one of the greatest crime films in cinema history. Heres a tip try paying attention next time ya DOOF!
