There are: posters, trailers and etc. People are not so dumb, they need just to look at bad symbol to understand that it is BB2.

Well "average joe" does go see Bond movies even tho it doesn't say "James Bond: GoldenEye" or James Bond: Casino Royale It's titled "Casino Royale" like I said average joe still does see it even if it's crap Bond movie.

The Movie will not bomb...thats for sure...

before Batman Begins, people I new didn't give a damn about this character. Now alot of family members and friends are totally hyped on this, espcially because of the fact that it is Batman vs. The Joker...and they know that they are going to get a good movie out of it.

This is going to do better than BB did at the box office...and lets hope it breaks some records

u r right tho...people are not going to care so much about the title. It's already been set for them, that they are going to see this movie. the title of the movie isn't going to decide that for them.

People loved BB and they are waiting for a sequel. BB didn't make so much because of not so smart marketing and Batman & Robin movie.

Besides, BB had huge DVD sales and very good WOM, so I doubt sequel won't make more than 1st movie.

Look at X-Men sequel, which was named like X2. It made much more than 1st movie.

Well, you are right, they really need to change their dumb marketing strategy.

At first, they should learn some lessons from (for example) SPidey 3 marketing.

Then, they need to limit marketing, just a bit. I think 1 teaser, 2 domestic trailers, 1 international, 7-8 posters and 9-10 tv-spots will be enough.

And they also should think about the quality of trailers, they should make them too look more effective.

They need to start promotion before the shooting will end and then continue it.

I'd also say some words about release date. WB should just find nice release date without any unnecessary competitors.

Memento! BORING?! Well if you found that movie dull and boring then you might as well just forget about enjoying The Dark Knight, this movie wouldnt be for you. It wont have explosions every 10 minutes or mindless action scenes. You know thats the problem with people nowadays the attention span has gone down the toilet films have been reduced to big shock moments and explosions. Now movies just forget about the story all together.

Im sorry if this sounds pretentious and pompous, i just don't think you have any decent taste in what is a good film and what isnt if you didnt enjoy a film like memento, which is in my opinion (and many many many others) one of the greatest crime films in cinema history. Heres a tip try paying attention next time ya DOOF!

Im 33 years old and have probably seen much more than you have in the realm of movies. Nolan is only praised by the fans because he brought a non campy Batman movie to the screen. Now everyone here is a nut rider. Show me the people outside SHH that think memento is one of the greatest crime dramas in history. Please. Most people dont even know what that movie is. It's going to be called simply The Dark Knight. Nolan and co. made the choice of removing the "Batman" name, next to the title.

They'll know. I remember when Begins was starting to advertise on television, mainly with the trailers. There were a lot of people who didn't know it was a Batman film, until it actually showed him in action. I imagine the same thing will happen so people recognize it. Same with the posters. People are going to notice the bat emblem.

I dont think the Penguin is a good choice, they should bring up something new, a new villain like Black Mask.

Is there an opportunity to get in contact with Goyer and Nolan. Do they listen to Fans and their wishes ?
If they do, then they will get a huge load of fans watching this movie at least 10 times in cinema.

There were some rumors about Black Mask and Maroni in the sequel, so what happened to them ?

The last report of Black Mask was that Karl Urban was another candidate for the role. And both the character's personas (Roman Sionis/Black Mask) would be a threat in the film. Sionis being a business rival to Bruce Wayne, and Black Mask being more of a threat to Batman. Though it was also reported that Sionis would likely be used more. Considering the sequel is rumored to revolve heavily on "duality".

Maroni along with Black Mask were rumored, and probably still are. Bob Hoskins who has also been attached to the role of Penguin, is also being considered for the role. With Maroni taking over as Gotham's "new" crime boss, after Falcone.

I dont think the Penguin is a good choice, they should bring up something new, a new villain like Black Mask.

There's a chance we'll get both. Even though there are some who think the sequel will be "too crowded." I love the choice of Penguin being in the film. And I'm looking forward to Nolan's rendition of the character. If we get Black Mask as well, the same goes for him.

No. Nolan does whatever he feels is best, for the story he's trying to tell.

It's posts like these that are unnecessary. Have you seen the film to even determine if it will "bomb" or not? No, you haven't. It's less then two years away. We still don't know what the story contains. Or what from the comics is going to be used in the material.

ok first and foremost i apologize for the insults, it was the morning what can i say?

secondly dont underestimate my movie buffness because i am 13 years younger than you, dont dismiss me a movie buff wannabe.

Thirdly I do think alot of people here do seem to ride on Nolan nuts a little bit, and if you found his movies boring, then good sir that is your opinion and you are welcome to stick to it. But i think you are incorrect by saying that memento is an unknown and only these nolan fan would like it. Its a major cult classic, and is mentioned in the movie world over by many many critics and movie fans everywhere as one of the best movies. not just the people on these boards like it, it has a HUGE following. take a look at the imdb top 250, now im mature enough to know that the list is far from a good indicator of the best movies ever, but it gives you an idea what most of the internet movie audience regard as the best films, if you look on that list you wouldnt find too many bad films on their.

The point is memento is 25 on the list, now the amazing thing about it is that its recent movie compared to the others, its an indie flick without the exposure like lord of the rings or godfather or schindlers list, yet it managed to climb such a high spot with a total of "120,668" votes. the bottom line is memento is a well loved movie, with a huge cult following, the expands too much more than nolan lovers. may i mention to you that batman begins is 81 on that list.

Im not saying you should like it because your in the minority, if anything you should be commended for sticking to your opinions, but you are in the minority here, i thought batman begins was simply a brilliant movie, with spot on acting, great sets, a great sound, great visual style, and had enough mark out moments to make me rewatch, i am truly sorry you couldnt experience the movie this way.

They'd have to be careful with that. I was indignant at SR and its marketing because they hyped "Superman tries to find his place in the world!" when it was really "Superman tries to find his place in Lois's life!" I was like, "Where's my epic conflict?! I demand an explanation!" I was SO disappointed.

If you hype Batman vs. Joker too much, people are gonna expect a huge Joker appearance, and from what we've heard so far, he's gonna play a more mysterious role. I say keep the Joker marketing on the down low, but make sure that everyone's aware that he's in the movie and doing what he does best, and I think the hype will take care of itself.

Begins had three major Batman villains from the comics; Ra's al Ghul, Scarecrow, Carmine Falcone. Also Chill and Zsasz making thier small appearences. And you could also throw Det. Flass into the mix as well, with his appearance in Batman: Year One as Gordon's antagonist.

This film had more major villains than "Forever" (Two-Face, Riddler) and "Batman and Robin" (Freeze, Ivy, Bane). I think "The Dark Knight" will be more than able to handle the Joker, the Penguin and some gang violence (with a touch of Two-Face thrown in at the end).
