The Easter-Eggs thread

Wish we had more realms in Clips. I'm guessing I'll have to wait for the dvd to make a Yggdrasil image with the different realms

A great Easter Egg that was pointed out to me. The rock creature that Thor takes out 'Anyone else?' is one of the rock creatures from Journey into Mystery #83 (the first appearance of Thor).

Yes, it's a Kronan. I think the marauders chant that when he comes onto the scene.

Which I do believe is the first creature listed in the Creatures thread

Loki disguising himself as
Captain America

Towards the beginning, when Thor is talking to Sif after returning from the battle on Vanaheim, there is mention of the [BLACKOUT]"Battle of Harokin."[/BLACKOUT], if I heard it right.

the kronan thing was awesome. here he is with color

When Loki tells Kurse that he will see him in "hell" before killing him, I believe Loki is talking more about Hel. The Norse mytholgy of the underworld and where Hela rules and Hela is the daughter of Loki according to legend.

Don't know if it's been mentioned yet...but when Odin, Thor, and Jane are on their way to the retrieve the book about the Dark Elves in Asgard, they pass through a room with a very large tree in it. The tree has miniature galaxies rotating on several of its branches.

This is a depiction of Yggdrasil, the World Tree.

Yep.

Usually I would put something like this down to fanboyism but I actually think you are onto something here. Del Toro apparently signed for multiple movies, something like 6 was the number I believe, and I just cant see The Collector being that prominent a character in the MCU, GOTG and then maybe ONE more appearance would be it for TC I think. But Thanos, he could be in 10 MCU movies let alone 6 as he is always coming back to life and thinking up new schemes.

Plus getting someone like BDT to The Collector just seems redundant when someone like Terence Stamp would be a much better fit for the character.

I'm sorry but post release this is fairly humorous.

was bdt's performance as the collector a little campy and out of place to anyone else?

Also, according to James Gunn, they did that scene in two hours. It was more than a little last minute and improvised.

I thought the midcredits scene was so good. Really got me excited for GOTG; I think it's going to be great!

GotG look so different, that I can't wait for it. Its like the indy punk version of a movie, standing alongside all the mainstream bands.

The GOTG tease felt to have a Hellboy vibe...

They lingered on a duple of the billboards in London, but I couldn't make anything out.

I'm assuming they were easter eggs, since they paid a little more time on them than usual.

Possibly the best surprise of the movie yet.

On the site that shall not be named someone found what they believe is the cocoon that will eventually become Adam Warlock in the Thor the Dark World mid credit's sequence. I am not sure if it is just a coincidence or not, but the images they posted next to the comic ones do resemble them quite a bit. It is exciting to think it could be him and that it was right under our noses all along.

Someone on the "other" site posted these clear shots of Selvig's chalkboard with an explanation of some of the terms. Tons of fun easter eggs in here!

Now we know that Muspelheim is, in fact, included.

Also, love the Simonson's Theory of Relativity!

Yeah, It's always been IN the Nine Realms, it's Niffleheim I wonder about it's location is.
Is it in Muspelheim's section of space or is it in Hel's section of Space? Thor Mentions Niffleheim in the First movie too, so, we KNOW it's around in one form or other.

GREAT find SH!!! I wish they were larger in size, I can barely read the text on the first pic

That scene was awful. The Amazing Spider-Man post-credits scene has relinquished its position as the worst stinger ever, and now we have an heir to the throne.

That scene made me worried for GOTG.
