The Election Night Thread - Part 1

I'm a Christian too, but you can't honestly believe Trump's not every bit as dirty. I mean you have a right to your opinion, and I agree it's not the apocalypse. However he's definitely the type that lies to your face, and talks about you behind your back. His audio leaks, and flip flopping party lines speak volumes. Let alone his very un-Christian stances on race, and gender (i.e. love your neighbor). Don't get me wrong, I dislike Clinton too, just don't fool yourself into thinking Trump's any better. He's the epitomy of self centered, ego driven wallstreet fat cats. Hell even his public speeches show his true nature.

Trump is no saint that I agree with you, if I know he will be level headed and use good judgment then I feel a lot better with him then Clinton. I knew what I was getting with Clinton, I'm optimistic with Trump.

Have I stated Trump has done no wrong? Have I stated he has never made a bad comment? I have my faith in Jesus not Trump. If you have sat in most churches or watched any religious programming they were not thrilled or happy with some of the choices Obama made, the message was pretty clear Hillary would be 4 more years of Obama. For most a vote for Trump didn't mean he was the knight in shinning armor, I'd said a lot of Christians myself included are not happy with some of the things Trump has said, or support him on everything for that matter, it meant a possible end to things such as abortion, seeing as most people of Faith are pro life he was the lesser of two evils. Trump has said some bad things but I can't see him mistreating people at the level people fear. So no I am not a hypocrite, I would be if I was saying Trump has never said an immoral comment and that is not the case, a vote for Trump was more so in fear of Clinton not love of Trump. I'm optimistic for a Country with Bible values with Trump being leveled headed and nothing radical like how this thread implies. Basically we knew what Hillary was gonna bring to the table and that was not good, with Trump I pray he will make good Bible based decisions and take the job seriously with good judgement. I've basically said all I need to regarding this election, I'm aware most people in this thread disagree with me, it's like being in a party for your football team's rival and trying to get along. Agree to disagree and hope for the best, people need to pray for good judgment regardless of who wins.

The bible should have nothing to do with how the country is ran, and you wanting to opress people doesn't sound like good moral judgment to me, this is so much bigger than you wanting to make sure women can't have abortions, you clearly aren't some uneducated hillbilly, you have made a choice based on wanting to control other people, basically like the terrorists your man Trump says he's gonna fight with his bazooka and Rambo starter kit.

Are you for real right now?

Fine, but the GOP has to take respnsiblity for any screw ups Trump does. I think he is fundamentally unqualified for the job, but if he is elected, he will get a chance to prove himself.

Frankly both the GOP and the Dems were irresponsible this election cycle, the GOP picked a moron and the Dems picked an unpopular choice who could actually lose to this moron.

So this is how liberty dies.

I couldn't stomach watching the speeches, but I overheard Trump's supporters shouting and cheering and it made me terrified because it sounded familiar.

To steal a line from the Simpsons, you are so blind even Jesus couldn't heal you. Do you read the news? See what Trump's own former employees said? The women he harassed? The saps he ripped off with that phony university?

His own campaign won't trust him with a Twitter account, and you're going to give him nuclear codes?

Look, clearly a large chunk of this country is a lot dumber, and angrier than a lot of us thought. We have to deal with that. Even if it means talking to them on a 4th grade level like Trump.

So there'll be American boots in the Middle East now under Trump right? :csad:

From a more level headed Christian, I agree completely. I'm deathly afraid Trump will either get us pressed under Russia's thumb, or get us blown Hel.

Can't wait for Colbert, Noah, and Meyers to come on.

Suicide...

We'll survive. Trust me, I'm there too on a level. Just an existential one. I feel like an alien who was welcomed into Earth only to be stabbed in the back - made even worse that a cousin voted for him, for a candidate who is so against me that he's made his bigotry the backbone of his campaign. So, I completely get you. But, we'll survive.

Please don't be serious. It's grim now. Absolutely frightening. But we will get through it.

It's better than experiencing WWIII. Nuclear holocaust is around the corner.

And this is why my country has to live with for the next four years, Hunter. Fighting this argument.

The problem now is he won't talk to the rest of us. I can be damn sure that would've happened if Hillary won. But do you think a Trump presidency is going to return that favor. I highly doubt it.

Sounds like you want your religious views imposed upon people who don't share them. That couldn't be more off-base for a country that constitutionally guarantees freedom of religion and separation of church and state.
