The Dark Knight The ending of The Dark Knight

I have been thinking about this on and off for the past month actually. Good question.

Anyhow....I have two ideas.

1. Almost similiar to the way the first one ended. We have Gordon and Bats talking on the roof top about what they could have done to save people who were killed by Joker. Possibly even see what they could have done to help Dent. The same music is used in the end that was used in Begins.....then Gordon gets a call from the hospital about how Dent has escaped from hospitala and how he killed a doctor. Gordon tells Batman to use any means necessary within the law to find him.

2. Bruce is at his parents gravesite near the manor reflecting on things his parents taught him....the sun has just set.....Alfred and Dr. Leslie Thompkins start to walk toward Bruce and the gravesite and stand behind him whhile Bruce stares at the graves and leaves two roses. The music from the end of Begins is playing...and Alfred tells Bruce the news stated D.A. Harvey Dent as escaped from the hospital and that a Doctor is dead. Bruce says "my god" and the camera pans out from showing Bruce staring at the gravesite with Alfred and Leslie looking on behind him.....and then while the music plays the camera starts going up toward the cloudy night sky......the music ends and at the sametime the Bat signal is highlighted in the sky. Movie ends....credits start.....

I think those two are very good finale's. I especially like the ending to the 2nd option with the Bat Signal. It may seem cleche but it's still sick seeing that.

Yeah, but wouldn't it be more believable that Batman would get fed up after all that and just kill the joker? I mean, Bats isn't a boy scout like Superman. He'd just stick one of his bat-a-rangs between the jokers eyes. End of story.

That is what makes it perfect IMO. It will show the audience Batman's No-Killing policy, much better than his whole "I won't kill you, but I don't have to save you" bit.

Wait wait... I thought the scarring was a cliff hanger... do you really think they'll hold it till part 3?

Ends at Arkyum where Joker gets a visit by two people:

- One who is either from an informant of Sal Maroni or Rupert Thorne, or is either one of themself who wants to make ammends and a truce with Joker at getting back at Harvey.

-Harley Quin visiting Joker as a psychiatrist, reads his file, objects to the thought that Joker is really a bad guy, and by movie's end we hear her call him "Puddin.' "

Then lastly Dent, Batman, and Gordon are on the roof celebrating but Gordon and Batman both fear that Gotham is still not a safe place. Make the whole movie ending like a "Empire Strikes Back"-type ending where the good guys believe they've won, but the battle is still far from over...

Dude i really likre harley

Harley always struck me as a character who was more funny than serious. I was just wondering, In Nolan's Darker, mroe realistic Batman Begins universe just how she would be played? Would she be darker and scarier like the Joker is supposedly going to be?

I think it should end like this: Batman start talking about the trial and we see Dent all nervous and edgy sweat pouring down his face and flipping his coin. Batman asks if he is alright and snaps at him saying he's alright. He apologises and leaves quickly.

Cut to batman and gordon talking about dent. And batman and gordon agreeing to keep an eye on him.

Yeah. I like my 2nd idea also. Mainly because of the whole gravesite and how Alfred and Dr Thompkins would be behind him when they give him the news regarding Harvey. It would be a very emotional and epic style open ended close to the film.

I like this one out of the two though....

2. Bruce is at his parents gravesite near the manor reflecting on things his parents taught him about tragedy in life....the sun has just set.....Alfred and Dr. Leslie Thompkins start to walk toward Bruce and the gravesite and stand behind him whhile Bruce stares at the graves and leaves two roses. The music from the end of Begins is playing...and Alfred tells Bruce the news stated D.A. Harvey Dent has escaped from the hospital and that a Doctor is dead.
