"Gay actor in one of the lead roles" and since this is going to be more of an ensemble, I don't think it'll be Ikaris and since it's a male, it won't be Sersi.

That was the old rumor. The new rumor is that the female lead will be an archeologist ("Karen").

Of course, for all we know both rumors could be wrong.

Well Masters of the Universe never gets out of development hell anyway, so whether they have a female archaeologist named Karen or not means absolutely nothing.

You're thinking Grizzly or Polar Bears. A Bear without any modifiers added, can be any adult man who is hairy and not thin (that's when you get into Otter terriroty LOL). You get the Cub label if you're more submissive... And yeah, it's all extremely stupid.
You don't want to know about the seals and silver foxes.

Anyway, back on topic. I hope we do get a hairy Hercules. Not Wookie, unshaven back hairy, but someone who's not waxed and with greased up muscles...

And to add another point of discussion on the matter, I personally do not want Hercules to be an Eternal.
I understand the need to adapt, but combining 2 entire races that exist in the Marvel Universe just takes away from the diversity and story possibilities in my opinion. I want there to be both Eternals and the Olympian pantheon.

Absolutely.
It may not be an apples to apples comparison, but the MCU has already shown characters of more than one "pantheon" in the Thor movies. Hogun was shown as a Vanir who worked with the Asgardians...
You could have some Olympians who interact with the Eternals, Hercules being one of them. With the 'immortal' nature of both species it makes total sense for them to have come in contact and interacted. They'll probably be shown to have crossed paths with the Asgardians at some point as well. If not in their intro movie, then later on.

I get the steamlining argument to a degree but when looking at a movie studios desire to pump out content and have more and different IPs to exploit in the future I think it makes more sense to keep the Olympians and Eternals seperate. There is a lot of potential in Herc especially if they adapt the more recent runs with Cho as his side kick.

My reactions to these rumors:

Elza Gonzalez: perfect. (Though Gugu Mbatha-Raw would be my top pick)
Naomi Scott: I will reserve judgement on her until after seeing Aladdin, as I’ve never seen her in anything before.
Alexander Skarsgård: meh. He’s fine, better than Armie Hammer, certainly. Hunnam is fine too.
Sofia Boutella seems like too much of a safe choice. Jameela Jamil or (preferably) Constance Wu any day.
Luke Evans:
Rami Malek: YAYYYYYYYYY!!!!
Millie Bobbie Brown: inevitable.
I don’t know anything about Maslany, Avgerepoulos, etc, I think, or I’m just forgetting them.

Personally, I hope these rumors are just rumors: I’d like some of these, but a lot of them seem too ordinary.
