because of previous "male lead"s greek god description and this new "gay" title, some assumed it might be hercules, but hercules was never mentioned in big trade or serious scoop.

the order goes: Piper, Untitled Diverse Female, Male Lead, "James" (the gay character). Jolie is none of those characters."
"From what I've seen, 'THE ETERNALS' is going to be an ensemble. It has quite a few "leads", so I don't know that we can think of Jolie as "the lead." Maybe we can, but I think there are about 5-6 "lead" female roles in that film, including one I never revealed.
I know they think the "diverse" female lead is a star making role. I know they have someone they like for the role I THINK is Ikaris. Outside of that, I don't know. They've been pretty successful casting, only missing a few times."

and I thought james and male lead was same thing but looks like it's not.

hey only want a white guy for one of them. 2 others, maybe a 3rd, are not for white actors. The rest are open ethnicity, so best actor available.
Yeah they're looking all over the place with casting for Eternals.
For one character they are looking to cast a Middle Eastern-North African actress. Asian another. Latinx another. And those are just the lead roles. The smaller roles could be the same."
