The Evil Within: Some May Call It an Evil that is Resident

Hopefully the story DLC for this game will answer a lot of the burning questions.

SCORE! game stop had it or 30 bucks new on PS4 til Sun only so I got it the same day I returned the 35 dollar PS3 version :awesome:.

the autosave is a non issue. Mostly because the save points are far away. sometimes you will die and have to play like 15 minutes again before reaching the point where you die.

I reached chapter 10. I can say I love this game. The variety is incredible. I'm having a blast.

Yeah, I agree. The idea of autosaving killing tension has never been one I subscribed to. But I also don't think just because a game has a lot of action means that he can't be a horror game, either. Glad that you're enjoying the game, Bat.

I'm definitely loving it! And indeed, while there is action, the pace is not crazy like in RE 5 for instance. there are several instances where you won't encounter enemies for several minutes, and then they will surprise you in a scary way. It definitely feels like survival horror to me. There is a constant feeling of dread, and the threat feels real.

My biggest issue with the games pacing is the first three chapters. It goes balls to the wall with no real set up. If felt like they just threw random sequences together.

Done! I loved it! It took me 16 hours. I died 78 times. It must be said though, that I let myself be killed willingly, in order to make this video

It was basically silent hill meets inception meets Resident Evil.

I really had a blast from start to finish. It was intense to say the least.

Glad you enjoyed it. I think the DLC was said to come out in March.

there is a teaser already. I think it should be an inetresting addition.

This is what got me interested in the game. I like being thrown into things in media res and left to figure out what's going on.

I picked this up and I'm going to be starting it tomorrow. Any tips on how to start off?

Yeah, don't try to kill the guy with the chainsaw, look for some keys. I died three times thinking I was supposed to kill him. You're not, and you can't.

I got my 360 copy for $25 at Target.

Does anyone else have trouble just sitting down and playing the game? I try to start up and play and I just lose interest. When I can sit down and force myself to go I really enjoy it. Its just rough to start up.

Not sure I understand exactly what you mean, but I know there was a twice where I just had to take a break from the game, because I came to some really frustrating parts that I couldn't seem to get past. I honestly can't remember exactly where they were, but I do know I stepped away from it twice at one point. I still loved the game, though, looking forward to the DLC.

I had to step away from the game a few times, because the controls and camera were pretty bad in this game.

I started playing today. I'm on Chapter 3, and I'm just taking my time trying to only get stealth kills. I do not want to my gun whatsoever, if I can help it. It's a really fun game, but the lag is very annoying and the camera angles are a bit bothersome.

I never had any problems with lag, framerate, or controls my entire playthrough. The camera took some getting used to, but it didn't bother me after awhile. The only big problem I ever had was when that weird glitch that killed my game for like a month and a half happened.

The game just makes me frustrated at points and I'll start, get into some annoyance where I mess up and either take too much damage or use too much ammo and I just get annoyed and leave it for a day or two. It happened to me several times over the last few days.

The stealth kills start to vanish very quickly around chapter 3 and they're a pain in the ass anyway. I just upgraded the accuracy and critical on my pistol as soon as possible. Makes the game so much easier in the long run once you get used to aiming for headshots. Never really had much lag, I'm on the 360 though.

I thought ammo was rare in this game? I actually thought you were meant to be more stealthy throughout the game. That's interesting. So it becomes more like RE4?

Ammo can be rare, but if you can manage pretty well as long as you don't get crazy. But no, it really doesn't become much like RE4. It's not like any other game really, but closer to RE4 than something like Outlast or older RE titles. The stealth does become minimized as you progress, though.

I can live with that. I'm getting annoyed with these enemies literally turning around in the last second when I am behind them. Now when I am behind them, at a point I beginning to rapidly press X so the moment I can kill them, I do.

You have to practice headshots to conserve ammo and if you can, then try not to fight. Eventually though you come across hordes of enemies and they will rapidly deplete your ammo if you aren't careful.
