The Expanse

^Thanks. I still think they were fools to drag Kenzo(?) on land with them before they knew where they were going.

I just finished watching the finale, and it was spectacular! Julie's death was so heartbreaking - almost physically painful to watch. So was Miller's reaction to being dosed with radiation. I actually thought he was going to die.

Those people who destroyed Eros are some seriously bad dudes. Now we know Julie's dad is in league with them, maybe even their leader. Also, Errinwright appears to be on their side. I can't wait for season 2.

I just learned that S2 is in 2017 ! It's GoT all over again, few months to watch one season, have to wait next year for the next. That is a long time waiting for 10 or so episodes per season :(
I think I will buy the books, I've spoiled myself hard and know the basic plot lines to the last books, it's great, nice scifi.

It is a long wait but at least it is worth it. SyFy hasn't had really deep science fiction since it called itself SciFi.

The show worthing it is what makes the wait a pain:)

Lately SyFy released 3 ok science fiction shows Defiance ( canceled ), Dark Matter ( watching ) and KillJoy but The Expanse is in another league.

Looking forward to Dark Matter and Killjoys coming back in the meantime. While all these shows owe some stylistic debts to Firefly, the influence of Serenity's adventures on Expanse aren't quite as overt as it is with the others.

Dark Matter and Killjoys were greenlit at the same time as The Expanse I think but they did technically air first. I like both of those too but they are not as realistic as The Expanse is. It is closer to what our future would be like than either of those two.

Agreed. I can't speak about Killjoy but Dark Matter is more StarTrek than a plausible future, also, the production value is no where near as good as The Expanse, same goes for the characters.

I've never really watched a sci-fi show before and don't even really like science fiction so I'm shocked that I adored The Expanse the way I did.

Killjoys and Dark Matter are definitely more kitschy in their sci-fi trappings. And from what I can remember, Dark Matter was probably the least rigorous in its world-building, compared to all the others mentioned.

I fell behind on this during my great X-Files binge, but I'm just now catching up and hot damn, this show is great! I might have to pick up the books once I finish the season.

The Expanse: Exclusive intel and first look at fan favorite Bobbie Draper

The adaptation of James S.A. Corey’s book series about an interstellar battle over control of an ancient alien bio-weapon will return for season 2 in 2017 on Syfy with a fan-favorite making the leap from page to screen. Martian marine Roberta “Bobbie” Draper will be joining the fray, and we’ve got your first look at The Expanse character right here with three exclusive photos.

New Zealand actress and boxer Frankie Adams will be playing the part of Bobbie, and her 6-foot-frame and Samoan heritage certainly did not hurt her ability to land the part. Expanse showrunner Naren Shankar shared some intel on bringing Bobbie to screen, as well as teasing another Caliban’s War character that will be appearing at some point.

She isnt how I pictured Bobbie, but...

...I dont mind.

I gotta read the next book so I can try picturing Bobbie.

Aw, yeah. :hmr:

Holden getting that blue gunk on him is rather alarming. I assume they find some sort of cure. Him and Naomi together, though. :hrt:

Can't wait for this to return. The trailer was interesting.

Anyone know if this due a UK release anytime soon? Love Dark Matter and Killjoys, they give me my Firefly fix, but I really like the sound of this as well.

So any update on whether they will release this on dvd over here in the UK and by that I mean Region 2?!

So far looks like its only been released over here on Blu Ray so was wondering why the delay and if Netflix is responsible for distributing it is that supposed to explain why there's a delay?

It's not out in the UK on blu ray, it is only available as an export from the US. But yeah, I am dying to watch this as it seems something I will love.

Notice the first season is now available on Netflix , also season 2 is starting on the 8th February

Miller's new hair cut is awful.
