The explanation of the coma patient in the hidden scene from the writers themselves!

Eh...I don't like that explanation at all. I think it'd come off as goofy if they tried to explain it in X4.

Maybe they watched 'The Island' right before they did the commentary and stole the concept of a host body from that film. :oldrazz:

Charles keeping his dead twin around for 'spare parts' is laughably ghoulish. Even X2 writer Michael Dougherty who has a twisted sense of humor wouldn't have used that idea.

If there was absolutely no brain activity, why would they keep that patient alive in the first place? I mean I can understand if the Xavier family is influencial and could afford to pay a clinic the upkeep to keep around a comatose patient, but in this case the only reason why he was kept alive was to serve as... yeah... spare parts for Xavier in case his own body ever "happens" to be destroyed. That foreshadowing was a bit obvious and rushed me thinks. If it was said in X1, then it would be more interesting and meaningful. Here it was just childish. He should have just said:

"hey kids, you see that man over there? Uncle Chucky is going to take over his body after Jean turns mine into oatmeal"

If he was Xavier's twin then Moira wouldn't have addressed him as Charles.

I don't believe Kinberg and Penn originally intended for him to be Xavier's twin. I think it's something they just recently pulled out of their asses.

God lord these people really ought to think before they open their mouths.

Apparently Ratner was telling the truth when he said that these two guys (from now on should be called "The biggest X-men fans ever") took actual panels from the books and translated it into their screenplay. Guys, every frame in this movie is from the comics!!!

too bad this particular scenario (Xavier trying to strangle cassandra Nova with the umbilical cord) was one of those that was lambasted by the fans when it was intro'ed in the books.

Just goes to show you that "the biggest X-men fans ever" just looked at the purty pictures (well not purty since Frank Quitely was pencilling it then :p ) and probably skimmed through synopsis of the books.

Fan fic pays more tribute to the source material (and continuity) than the clowns who were in charge of this production. And I used to think Scott and Logan slash fic was unbelievable.

^^^ I absolutely agree. Fanfic stories and novels (yes, novels!) are much more faithful not only to the source material but to the characters, their strengths, and to their own internal consistency and vision within the movieverse than anything these "professionals" could come up with.

And speaking of taking ideas from panels... This brings a quote to mind when Highlander 2 came out:

"A sequel, to a movie that no one saw".

This sounds familiar. X3: A movie taken frame by frame from comics that no one saw or read before.

You'd be surprised at how many people who ***** about pairings in fanfic that aren't canon will accept what so-called professionals give us. These writers commited a bigger sin because as paid professionals they had more responsibility to the source material.

Stillborn twin brother? That's just plain stupid. I don't know what's worse. Actually conceiving such a nonsensical idea or trying to pass it off like it's some brainstorm. Jeez. :down

The movie verse has become the comic verse. Lacking total logic and conviction. Unable to stay put, go forward or make any real sense.

This cracks me up. It's nice being able to get this information and not have to fork over any cash to buy the stupid movie. Got to love the internet.

Xavier walking is like...rain without water :( they would have to make him get in accident again to lose his legs, thus becoming the most unlucky guy in the world ever. :p
ROTFLMFAO!

sad tragedy:csad:

its funny how u all are saying clones are dumb..... when the x-men go into space every day..lol

The adult body of Xavier's stillborn twin brother, as based off of Cassandra Nova? Kept alive to use for spare parts? For 60-80 years?

I can't even be mad at the writers for coming up with that one. It's far too hilarious.

lol, if 'Casanova Xavier' has been kept alive all this time, his muscles wouldn't have fully developed thus making him bound to a wheelchair again.

hahahaha.

i absolutely loathe all things cassandra nova

morrisonnnnnnn!

A fellow hype member revealed this back in May/June actually and i still find it hard to believe they went with this scenario.

Xavier's death has zero impact if he ends up being alive in X4.

LOL.
It's settled. That is now the twin's official name: Casanova Xavier.

Their excuse for not showing Jean rising from Alkali Lake is that it would be too hokey and needed to be grounded in reality, but they think that Xavier transplanting his mind into the body of his secret still-born twin brother isn't? Sometimes their logic, or a lack thereof, is completely maddening. :cmad:
:cmad:

BTW I managed to get my hands on a clip of Xavier's evil twin brother.

That was me!! I actually revealed it the night I went and saw X3 (can't remember the date, but it was before the rest of the world!)

i want him as a baby

That'd be badass if they made him look like Johnas Venture (Rusty's twin brother) from Venture Brothers. :D

I wouldn't mind the idea of Xavier being alive, if it wasn't for the fact they were trying to pass it off as his twin brother. That's just a lil hackneyed.

I think it would be funny though if Xavier had a collection of brain dead adults hanging around just in case he had to make a quick exit from his body. He'd be immortal and you could have a bunch of different actors playing him.

If i didn't say then i'll say it now, thanks for the scoop.:woot:

No problem!!

I also was the first to reveal the Phat deleted scene, and that there are possibly outtakes of the X-Men dancing at Alcatraz somewhere on the DVD...

I listened to commentary as well too, and while there was some good information, it was one of the hardest commentaries to listen to I have ever heard. They make so many bad jokes that just are so inside "haha we know what were talking about, but you have no idea." Like this is a shot by Gene Roddenberry, this is someones blanket. This is obviously what is on the screen. This is why you can tell were didnt give a crap about this movies at times.

It was rough, one listen and I will never go back to it.

^^Damn!

Yeah i read they had a hard time shooting the scene because everyone start doing the macarena.lol

The Phat deleted scene should have stayed in the movie IMO.
