The explanation of the coma patient in the hidden scene from the writers themselves!

what are you talking about?

Oh definitely, I'm not disputing that. Xenia Onatopp was badass :D

That would keep with Star Wars tradition of people losing their hands...

I'm so glad I'm not the only one :) I'm a classic Star Wars fan, IMO the original movies are infinitely better than the prequels, and all of my EU material comes from that time period or later.

What's your favorite book? Mine's a toss-up between Shadows of the Empire and X-Wing: Iron Fist.

1. Back in the day, I dunno...something to do with book covers.

2. Yeah she was. She was badass in x3.

3. well not that her hand will get cut off...but yeah...cause then when Mara jade comes along, boom, there's your new Hand, Palps.

4. I love the classic trilogy, but while I still like the PT, there are things I would have done differently... with the pt

5. I like Shadows of the Empire, Timothy Zhans's trilogy...a bunch of other ones too.

They should've had Xavier wake up in Steven Seagal's comatose body. That would have been a way cooler hidden ending!

So the cure isn't permanent, the school is unaffected, the government isn't against mutants anymore, and Xavier is still alive in his spare body. So nothing happened over the course of this movie except ruining Jean's character and killing Cyclops. Fantastic! :down

I just saw this with the commentary too, and I thought it was interesting. But on a side note, I thought that the commentary with Ratner and the 2 other guys was just terrible. It was not informative at all. The whole time they just made sarcastic statements. It got to the point where I didn't know whether thay were kidding ot not at whatever they said.

That sums it up yes....kind of. *sighs*

Here's a question I have: Why wasn't David Hayter involved in X3? I mean considering he was a co-writer of both X1 & X2, it just doesn't make sense why he wasn't asked to participate in X3! I mean if he took part in Superman Returns then maybe i'd understand but he wasn't!

I think having him involved would've made some sort of a difference...for the better.

he wasnt involved in SR? then i atribute the fact to Fox's marvelous intelligent executives.

I wouldn't say that. What are the ramifications when it is discovered the cure isn't permanent? The school now can look forward to a much larger enrollment as a result of the events in X3. And when Xavier comes a-knocking in his brand spanking new body, don't you think it'll cause a few palpitations?

Check out this interview with David Hayter.

With your schedule getting tighter, have we seen the last of your writing in the X-Men series?

Unfortunately, yes.

Would you like to continue work on this series, or would you rather move on with other things?

I would have loved to have written the third movie, as Bryan Singer and I had many discussions about the full course of the story. Unfortunately, the studio and I had a bit of a falling out. But I hope the third movie will be great, and it sounds like they are taking their lead from the first two.

sorry, but i think "causing a few palpitantions" was everything these writers wanted in X3, and look how it turned out...

Storm is still afraid of people and is full of anger, Magneto steps over his daughter/protege. And Xavier has a secret stillborn brother, the same one that earlier was said to have no family. Oh and millions of people could have died from the events of X2 due to evil Cerebro, but everyone has stopped whining and gotten over that. :ninja:

i just finally watched the commentary and i love their idea of a male version of Cassandra Nova. they mentioned of footage label of "P. Xavier" i wonder y they took that part out, cause if they left it in it would of been less confusing and added identity to the man then just a random brain dead man. but o well

at least they thought of an idea which can be brought into a X4 if made

^^^ How can they bring in the concept of a long, lost, secret brother to Xavier when it's clearly stated in X3 that that comatose man does not have family?

You know what the ultimate stupidity about all this is? Penn and Kinberg acknowledge that Xavier has a secret, long lost brother. But they won't acknowledge the real, ACTUAL brother in the movie (Juggernaut0???

What the freaking hell?

Thanks, Retro.

F***in FOX! :cmad:
And Hayter hasn't exactly been lucky lately. Both Black Widow (which he wrote and was supposed to direct) and his excellent Watchmen script were canned recently.

So true.:o In Matthew Vaughn's version of X3 they were going to acknowledge Xavier and Cain's relationship.

Sadly, Hayter has basically been blacklisted for suing Fox. Hopefully, one of the other studios will recognize that a lot of people have problems with Rothman and Fox and will give David a break.

He was one of the few people that actually was a knowledgeable fan of the X-Men prior to the first film's release.
