The Fantastic Plot-Holes Thread SPOILERS

Like an electro magnetic pulse disrupts electronics....tachyon pulse disrupts cosmic transferance of energy.

In the movie.....SS recieved his power from the board....the tachyon pulse (tachyons are sub atomic particles that travel faster than the speed of light) was sent out and disrupted that flow to SS, thus shocking him into unconscisnous.

What's a movie without plot holes?

The purpose of this thread is to point out the errors in this movie and have an intelligent debate without getting out of hand. Remember, nobody is right and nobody is wrong.

Here are some I noticed off the top of my head:

1) How is Reed able to stretch his regular clothing as well?

2) If Sue is so worried about being in the lime-light then why have a wedding on a damn roof?

3) Where Willie Lumpkin?

4) We all know that Alicia is blind but can she not feel the force of the propellers coming at her?

5) How did Doom get his costume passed the highly secured military base?

6) Since Doom was 'cured', why would he even need to wear it?

7) I'm sure this isn't an error but the battle scene took place in China so why did they get married in Japan?

I know theres alot more so please post em if ya got em.

1)I wondered the same thing at first but it makes sense like in the comics that Reed made himself some special streeth clothes to wear.

2)If the wedding was street level, they would have had to come out and face the photographers. It was a pretty day, why not have it oustide? Plus I am sure they had the area designated as a no fly zone...those idiots looked like they were being risky.

3)Stan Lee passes all forms of movie continuity in his appearances...it is an unwritten rule. The man does what he wants so quit b****ing:cmad:

4)She knows the helicopter is coming down, but she is also on a platform high on a rooftop surrounded by chairs, flailing people, and propeller and rotor coming her way. She knows Ben can save her...why not just call out to him instead of jumping the wrong way...she can't see what the helicopter is doing:huh:

5)Good question. He obviously brought it...maybe in a trunk with the equipment he was going to study the board with in the pressence of the general.

6)Because it is armor...his face is 'pretty' again...why risk messing it back up?

7)My little brother wondered the same thing and I don't have an answer for it.

I wonder why and how Johnny managed to fly outside the plane wothout killing anyone.

There were so many plot holes in this movie, but the way I look at it is its like one of those movies you loved as a kid and then you go back and watch it when you're all grown up and its just horrible and all the flaws are so blatant.

What bothered me is how everyone saw (including the general) Thing slam Doom into a wall and crush it. Whatever?

Johnny breathing in space at the end.

The cloud was already almost to the earth....he was flying no higher than the clouds in the sky, when he couldn't go any further he gave one last push and fell back.....

The plane had not left the ground yet when Johnny left it to go flaming along beside it.

I've busted plasterboard by falling into it.....maybe I'm the Hulk.

Johnny and the surfer weren't in space....Big G was coming down into the atmosphere.

I mean If it took that little effort to destroy Galactus then why didn't the Surfer do it earlier?

What was the point of the holes thje Surfer created?

How did the pole go through Sue's shield?

Galactus was not destroyed....

That is where Galactus attached the long tenacles that you saw at the beginning.....through which he feeds....

The same way the SS went through her shield when they first met.....but in the heat of the moment, she forgot that....it was made of energy just like the SS...

He didn't destroy Galactus....he transported him to another place in the universe.

They made it easier for Galactus to insert his planet sucking mechanism in.

It was made of cosmic power...like when the Surfer stuck his head through her shield earlier.

How did the pole go through Sue's shield?
I think I can answer this one:D It was made of the same cosmic energy which allowed the Silver Surfer to pass through her shield.

Edit. Lee beat me to it:(

If it wasn't the natural disasters the Surfer should have "theoretically" caused from putting giant sized potholes in the earth, then it should have been the destruction Galactus caused when he started the suction process.

... But if that wasn't enough, this will really tickle your fancy. What about when the Surfer absorbed Galactus and caused that giant ripple effect across the solar system. Which by the way, should have also mutated half the earth's population with cosmic radiation.

Oh, and there's one other little problem left... When he caused that implosion, he also sucked the earth out of it's natural orbit.

Is it just me, or did the writer/Story really consider these cause and effect events. Even by today's standards, most superhero film makers take in account a certain degree of the laws of physics... This time, I think it was just plain neglect on their behalf.... Even if it is a "fantasy film".

Galactus just wants a hug that's why:

Kang....it's getting old.

It's late and I'm tired....so I didn't understand your first one.

Surfer didn't absorb G....just transported him. His apperances only effected the people who had already been transformed by a different cosmic force...so the blast didn't effect the population.

He opened a wormhole to transport G away....this wouldn't suck the Earth out of orbit.

The writers could have had the same thoughts as I just expressed.

in relation to the surfer when he transforms doom into the ice is that not what happened in relation to galactus, did the ss teleport him to somewhere else in the universe?

or is this just me!

I thought he just blew him through the ice...

Here's one I thought soemone would've covered by now...

In the scene where Sue says she's 'hawt' for Reed after he stands up to the Colonel, Why did they go through the motions of showing Johnny transfer his powers to Reed, yet never use that as part of the next action scenario?

At first I thought they forgot, but then I remembered that there is a little thing called editting, and they probably scrapped the scene where they switched back.

Obviously at some point they switched back, but it wasn't shown and just kind of left you dangling.
I was going to mention this exact scene, it made no sense for me...

The biggest is, they established that when you snag another members powers, you lose your own to them, so if Johhny touched everyone at once, he should've become an invisible stretchy rock guy, and the rest of the team should've become lightweight fire-people, each sharing a third of Johnny's power.

You can make up reason after reason to explain it, but the fact is that they should've talked about it in the movie.
perhaps johnny did give all his powers away...

if you take into consideration that sue was dead, then he took her powers but there was no longer an area for her to take his so he retained a third of his...

perhaps reed and the thing did have some of johnny's powers but never actually used them.

Am I the only one dissappointed that they didn't go further on that "Galactus gave them their powers" thing?
This did bugg me and it would have probably been highlighted if the film was indeed longer but i don't think it would have made that much of an impacton the way it all ran.

Johnny breathing in space at the end.
Doom may be pretty but he kept his denser molecular structure and powers. Remember him and the thing were fighting in the first movie. Doom can take serious punishment, which is why he took that big hit from ben right at the end of teh film

I know some of these have been discussed but I thought I would add my two cents as well...

Johnny breathing in space at the end.
I'm not altogether certain he was in space at the end, but at the beginning... when the FLAME extinguishes (if any of you took 6th grade science, there is no flame without oxygen)... there simply is no way for him to have gotten his 'kewl' line off about 'the silver surfer winning'.

I mean If it took that little effort to destroy Galactus then why didn't the Surfer do it earlier?
Well, Surfer made his reasons fairly clear, when he tells us that he serves Galactus to save his own world. I think it's easy to assume that he thought he would have to die to stop Galactus, and he couldn't be certain that this would work. Since he wasn't totally convinced, nor did he wish to actually die (if not for the simple fact that he wanted to see his world and his woman again), those are pretty good reasons not to have tried.
