This whole thing has been absolutely crazy.

They could have made the exact same film and they'd have a lot more people giving it a chance if they had just said the right things.

Instead of "They'll see it anyway" - "On August 7th, the fans will see we're making the film they're hoping for."

Instead of "It's a coming of age story" - "It's a story of adventure and discovery."

Instead of talking about man-boobs, talk about Kirby and Lee.

The movie might still suck just as hard, but there would be a lot more people willing to give it a chance,if they just made the slightest effort to say some of the right things.

Ironically all of the main cast is on record for saying something cringe worthy about this film except Bell. His mouth wasn't an issue until the 3rd trailer released.

I think Cage's loonacy was fine.....he didn't detract from the film's likeability for me. It was other stuff that they did.....and I can't give you specifics right now....I saw the movie once, and was completely turned off by it. I will watch it again sometime in the near future just to see if I still hold that opinion or if I change my mind about it.

No. Cage was miscast and he didn't even bother trying to do a good job. And Blackheart is a big black pile of spikey sludge. Instead he's an obnoxious fratboy in a suit. I hated that film.

To put it lightly, as long as Josh Trank is nowhere near another FF film, I can't imagine a sequel or a Marvel Studios reboot being anywhere near as bad.

I HATE the first movie, but I like SoV.

If they would have released SoV first instead of the first Ghost Rider, I honestly think GR would still be at Sony. They tried to make him family friendly but come on! He's a freakin demon out for vengeance! How could you possibly make that a family movie!?

Watch it a second time and get back to me. It's not that bad. The worst part was Cage's acting IMHO. He just isn't right for the part. But try to imagine it as the first movie and not a sequel. They tried to go dark in it but it just came off wrong but it wasn't horrible.

If you ask me, that's gonna happen either way. The question is whether or not the deal will favor Fox (if FFINO is successful enough), or if it will favor Marvel (should FFINO fail).

Marvel needs a deal so they regain usage of some VERY key villains, and Fox needs it to realize their goal of expanding the X-franchise to TV (and possible stand to make money again from resumed merchandising for the films).

I think people here are willing to wait, and let the likely stench of this reboot fade. Plus, that would make F4 a phase 4 film, which is fitting if you ask me. Marvel, though will be quicker in utilizing the other characters like Silver Surfer and Galactus I believe.
