The FFINO ZONE - Part 1

They studio saw 3.7 and said, we can beat that. Re-shoot half the movie!

But I do want to see more glowing reviews of rough cuts......

.....that are followed by the studio going "holy s*** we have to fix this mess up big-time!!"

Aren't you going easy on the movie if the studio see the same thing and panics and starts cutting out chunks and re-filming the 3rd act?

Reports are saying there was 40 pages of reshoots. That's roughly 40 minutes of the movie.

Yeah, that rough cut was surely incredible.

I thought that website was known for making stuff up.

The Hollywood Reporter?! Um... no. They're one of the main trades. Their reporter, Borys Kit, is the one saying he's had sources tell him there may have been as much as 40 pages of reshoots.

The Hollywood Reporter, Variety, and Deadline are the trades I always trust with news pretty much without question. Deadline may have had a stumble here or there IIRC, but all three are pretty airtight.

I want to see a Robot Chicken episode with a "Where are they now" type of scene for Trank, post FFINO. He'll be in a secluded section of a beat down trailer park, wearing a stained wife beater, in his undies, snorting coke and holding an empty liquor bottle in his butt. He'll be babbling on incoherently and in the background you'll see a few rows of supporters cheering for him. "These are the sad souls that refused to accept the movie was crap", they'll say, "even after it came out and its foul stench created a pandemic of instantaneous projectile vomiting".

Not that site, the one we're not allowed to name for some reason.

Because they kept lifting stories from our site claiming they wrote them and such. The topper was.....SHH received some swag from a studio with cool stuff, we posted pics of it....later in the day the other site posted how a studio had sent hem swag and posted pics of it....one of the pics had the envelope it came in, in the pic....showing it was addressed to SHH.

Nice to finally know the specifics. All I knew is there were some legal issues.

LOL. Tranks "imagined" release cut was 130 minutes

Minus 10 minutes of credits= 120 minutes of material

Release cut @100 minutes minus 10 of credits= 90 minutes which include
40 minutes of reshoots............

So, check my math, the current film minus the credits contains 40 minutes of reshoots and 50 minutes of Tranks original version.

And since he thought HIS original version was going to have 120 minutes of actual content......

....the math tells us

120-70=50 (original version)

50 (original)+40 (reshoots)= 90 (almalgam material)

then add he 10 minutes of credits brings us to the 99/100 current cut.

So, if that guy is telling the truth-----70 minutes of what he saw and liked to the tune of 3.7 out of 5------------ is GONE.

He has no business even reviewing a movie that he has seen less than half of! LOL

Oh, cool. I always wondered. I can die happy now. lol

But yeah. All those guys do is generally swipe other people's stories and work. It's just that they sidestep plagiarism these days by adding "I think that's cool, what do you think?" and provide a small link at the end after having the contents in their 'article'.

Krystal's math skills surpass both Trank's Reed and Domashev's

And sadly Teller's as well------" movies of this size rarely get 80% at RT."

The funny thing is, he meant big budget CBM summer movies (and he was wrong) BUT.....

.....in an ironic way he could have been referring to UNDERFUNDED, UNAMBITIOUS CBM movies since in 2015 $122 isn't a huge amount of money anyway.

We all know a faithful telling of the classic FF mythology would cost 180-200 million to be done correctly.

he wasn't even right about it being the huge popcorn summer movie it should have been--it's not. It was always conceived of as a half effort to save the rights and maybe make a few bucks with the worldwide sales thrown in.

let's hope they fail on both counts.

i. Must. Have. This!

Hmm... (puts thinking cap on)

Any talk of a potential "crossover" between FF & the X-Men is beyond bizarre. Considering this movie is a glorified Corman-esque rights grab, what possible "synergy" is there in them "crossing over"???

Seems to me more like part of the overall hardball tactics to get favorable terms for any deal taking place between FOX and Marvel.

That deal can't be far off (wishful thinking). FOX needs merchandising profits and a larger overall cross-media presence (incl. TV/Netflix/animated/etc.) for the X-franchise, while Marvel needs Silver Surfer and Galactus (and possibly others). Hopefully everything will return to Marvel so that the comics finally get peace from all the crossfire.

...And I finally get my Black Widow/X-23 team-up dream-niche-movie. :oldrazz:

Actually, Marvel doesn't really need SS or Galactus.
They have many characters in their library to mine from, and as GoTG has shown, they could all be great successes if done right.

No bargain with FOX. Not even for TV stuff, you hear that Feige? Don't budge an inch!

I'm sure Marvel knows this. I'll bet anything that as the shooting date got closer and closer, Fox pulled some moves to see if Marvel wanted to make a last minute deal. That's why shooting started at the last possible moment.

And We'll (Marvel) still take out 15% off the B.O top.. Thank You Fox.. Now go lose money... We'll wait for your surrender LOL!!!

Do they have enough characters that they can make great films for the next 100 years without Surfer, Galactus, Dr. Doom and Reed Richards?

Sure.

Will it be the Marvel Universe In Name Only without Surfer, Galactus, Dr. Doom and Reed Richards? I'd say so.

Personally, I won't mind if Marvel trades the TV show rights and merchandising for X-Men to Fox in exchange of the entire library of FF. I think it will be a mutually beneficiary move for both sides, and it will help Marvel and Fox to expand their own cinematic universe for many years to come.
