The FFINO ZONE - Part 1

After this any leverage Fox might have had is gone now in any type of negotiations that might take place

Studios have idiotic reasoning so who knows? All three of those films are terrible so you'd think the message would be, stop making crappy movies starring women.

But that would require trying instead of looking for excuses to not make female led films. :o

Is anyone else a little concerned that if this movie is a legitimate flop, one of the only lessons myopic studio execs will take out of it is, "Well, guess black superheroes don't sell"?

Leaked emails have proven that this line of thinking has contributed to the absence of female leads in superhero films, because films like Catwoman, Elektra, and Supergirl were such notorious flops.

Marvel won't cancel Black Panther. They invested too much into the character.

I hope not. The message should be "Don't tell the fans to #$@! off and expect big returns."

I think, these days, that would happen only if the reviews were good and the box office was bad.

Yeah, I hope I'm wrong, but we've seen that kind of miscalculated logic before. Often in the other direction, i.e. "These competing movies were successful because they were dark and moody, therefor we must make everything dark and moody" while ignoring that the other "dark-moody" movies were just considered to be really ****ing good regardless.

Same with how Catwoman was awful regardless of which gender the person was starring in it.

Kinberg wasn't the problem. He's the guy who fired Trank over this atrocity.

Kinberg didn't really have a choice, he somehow has a really cooshy working on Star Wars as well as being Fox's 'Marvel Guy' (plus a bunch of other gigs). When Trank got the SW job Kinberg took credit for it happening, he had to cut Trank loose to protect his own career, he wasn't going to let Trank drag him down.

Hm. I'm pretty sure there was some song from Spider-man 2 that describes how I'm feeling right now.

No, but maybe Fox will flinch now at the thought of trying to add diversity to the leads of their franchises.

But I'm probably just overthinking this.

That the failure of Catwoman and Elektra was blamed on the gender of the leads was bs, but I think this is a different situation since it's an ensemble cast. I think Teller even brought it up that this role was less risky than a lead role in one of his interviews.

Or they might continue adding diversity, but flinch at the idea of changing the races of lead characters.

Well they're gonna have to figure it out with New Mutants on the agenda. The main reason for that series was to add diversity

I just hope that we don't wind up with a white Surge or Karma.

Time to give this thread the ol' bookmark.

Just read on twitter

"It's clobbering time" is something Ben Grimm's abusive brother used to say before he slapped him about. Comic book fans will love that.

unconfirmed if true
It's like they were thinking "what is the worst possible thing we can do to fans?"... Like Lex Luthor saying "up up and away" while undressing Lois Lane. (actually I'd be surprised if that never happened :D )

This is the twitter of the guy who said something about clobberin time. Seems pretty reputable to me.

Guy in a different thread that saw the movie said he didn't remember it happening. But yeah, that guy Mathew Buck is an internet film critic and a reliable enough source.

So according to Matthew Buck, the helicopter drop really isn't in the film? That's just so baffling to me.

My gawd man! Dude isn't holding back! [BLACKOUT]He says two major actions scenes in the entire movie: the accident and ending! Wow!!
And the Thing/Hulk drop from the copter scene isn't in the movie! What was Fox thinking![/BLACKOUT]

Dr Doom: "I think the whole world should come to an end."

Sue(sarcastic): "Listen at Dr. Doom here."

Please! Where are the defenders of this movie at?!

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSS
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSS
YEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSS

pardon me, I've just been reading the reviews.

YEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSS
YEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSS

I can't wait for Matthew Buck's Bad Movie Beatdown of this Fantastic Four movie.

Unfortunately, they probably cut this scene:

Sue and Reed are at the grocery store, there's a box of Cheerios Sue can't quite reach, so Reed grabs it.
SUE: Wow...you are just FANTASTIC, mister!
