 Thanks so much for that graphic. I intend to pull that up when I'm reading stories on Monday about this tanking.

I saw one review mention that the hard-core fans will probably still show up, and I thought: "He hasn't been paying attention, has he?"

Seems like MBJ, Teller, Mara, Bell and Kebell should really be called the Suicide Squad, because even when making this, they knew this movie and all the characters were going to their death.

But how many of the villains Marvel have been able to use have been as top tier as Doom?

I really dont think that matters to them. Iron Man wasnt a top tier character and look what they did with him. Made him ibto the lead of the MCU. They are capable of making any villain worth while no matter how low or top tier they are. They just dont seem to want to give their villains much lasting power or complexity. Its all about the heroes , Loki being the exception, for them so I wouldnt be surprised if they shortchanged Doom like they have with every other villain in the MCU.

Its one aspect of the MCU I desparately want them to improve before they bring Doom into the MCU.

So Fox's track record for CBMs is 5 or 6 (Probably being too kind for Daredevil even the DC) for 12 now?

Makes me fear for Spidey's rogues.

Yeah, I think that was ... I forget which review it was lol.

Anyway, I thought the same thing. The hard-core fans will be doing the exact opposite and avoiding this movie like the plague. It's only the people who have no particular affinity towards the characters or the Fox supporters who will be the ones to show up and see it anyway. Or the hardcore masochists.

I don't think Marvel is incapable of doing their villains right. They just haven't nailed that detail yet. There have been glimmers, but they just do need to focus on the villains in the future.

It will be interesting to see how Thanos works.

The FOOFS (Fans Of Other Franchises) who have adopted FFINO as their very own have threatened to be there opening weekend. But even they may not be showing up.

Josh Trank will finally be able to make his dream movie. Chronicle vs Sharknado

What did Sharknado do to deserve this? Trank would probably make it not really a tornado of sharks, but a hurricane of dolphins that people thought were sharks.

So in fact, the FF are actually Reed, Doom, Johnny and Ben, and Sue is the 5th wheel.

So really it is FFINO even more than we thought.

Yeah.....the whole idea of Sue not even going on the journey/trip/whatever and getting her powers by a secondary accident is a terrible choice for them to make.

If you are looking forward to this movie. You are not allowed in here. As stated by the mod that made this thread

what are you talking about?
Im not looking forward to this crap
Ive been against it from the very begining

This will probably be another Ghost Rider:SoV situation for me. Three years after its release, I still haven't bothered.

If they hadn't gotten 'cute' with Mandarin, the character they started with could have been great (though I don't know the comic version of Mandarin), but from my ignorant perspective, that character we saw at the beginning of the film flat out worked.

Pre-worst-twist-I've-ever-seen, the Mandarin was an AMAZING villain. I absolutely loved the scene where he had the president call him on live TV and he shot the hostage. Too bad they swapped him for another lame business man villain.

That's certainly been a frustration of mine - that I don't feel any Marvel villains have lived up to their potential. I thought Ultron would be it, but that was obviously a let-down.

. . . But I'd still rather take my chances with Marvel.
Agreed.

Marvel definitely needs to start stepping it up with their villains; Loki aside, they've all been shortchanged in development (and even Loki hasn't had much written development outside of the first Thor movie -- we've just been lucky enough that Hiddleston's a strong enough actor to make the material work).

That being said, I'm with Willie: at least with Marvel there's a chance (especially given Doom's prestige in the comics), and even a Short-Changed Doom at Marvel is better than a DINO Fox Doom.

Whatever ms does with doom it will at the very least be a better doom than the ones we've had from fox. That being said I do like the fact that Ms focuses more on the heroes makes them standout a bit imo, only thing I ask is they don't kill him off and they can just develop him over time like loki.

I blame Shane Black for that, because he was also the writer for IM3 and it seemed like Marvel pretty much left him alone to do what he wanted.

Have you ever heard of the term "AstroTurf" in politics to describe people who aren't really 'grass-roots' but pretend to be? That's the way I see a lot of supporters of this film. They don't really care about the characters or want to see them on screen. They're just supporting it for other, strange reasons, and that's not going to give them strong motivation to show up for a stinker of a film.

Yep, it all fell apart after that. He could've been a really formidable and charismatic foe who could scare the crap out of Tony Stark, but they turned him into a joke.

Yeah, I don't know the details. All I know is that when I was sitting in the theater at the beginning of the film, I was thinking: "Yeah, this is what a villain should be!"
