I always thought IM3 was heavily divided. People either loved it or hated it.

IME most of the people who hate it are a minority of fanboy/girls who hate the Mandarin angle. Me I just think it was a lazy stinker all around that squandered its potential-- and one that used too much comedy for my taste. Certainly an improvement over IM2 though.

If Doom isn't Domashev anymore because Kinberg removed all of that, then that is disappointing. I was actually looking forward to him being a blogger with the online handle of D00M that he uses in chat rooms. They should've left this movie to be so bad it's not really very good.

Pre-worst-twist-I've-ever-seen, the Mandarin was an AMAZING villain. I absolutely loved the scene where he had the president call him on live TV and he shot the hostage. Too bad they swapped him for another lame business man villain.

Mandarin is a, "lame business man villain." Killian was far closer to the comic version of Mandarin than Slattery was.

I feel like it was a commentary on the story within the story itself. Ben Kingsley isn't even Chinese, he's Indian. Killian being the REAL Mandarin was actually more accurate since Mandarin is half English and Guy Pearce is... AN ENGLISHMAN!

And technically Mandarin in the comics isn't even Chinese. His other half is Mongolian. He built up a lie for himself to invoke Chinese nationalism to help build his army since he wants to conquer China for its wealth and nuclear arsenal. Literally everything which non-comic fans associate with the character is a lie which he cultivates.

That's why I don't get the hate for IM3.

As for FF. I get the hate. After the final battle, all the character development is suddenly resolved with no questions asked. That's the same reason why critics hated Sucker Punch. It was a whole lot of build up to a final scene which leaves a horrible taste in your mouth.

There are so many things that are so WRONG in this story. Ben just willingly being used as a weapon for a year? And he never just crammed a tank up Elder/Allen's butt?

Once again, a romantic connection between Doom and Sue? Almost every sentence of every description of every scene got on my nerves.

Yeah, that part doesn't gel with me. Particularly since Ben could easily take whatever Uncle Sam throws at him. If feels like Fox didn't know what do when shooting the film or in the editing room

I am absolutely shocked that this film is apparently every bit as bad as I thought it was gonna be. Shocked I tell you.

I hope so. But, I could see them making Marvel wait. We probably wouldn't see a Fantastic 4 MCU movie until 2020 at the earliest anyway. Also, I cannot believe they made them teenagers. I know it's typical for Hollywood to cast older, but they're all 28, 29 years old with Kate Mara being 32!

We have one more hurdle to clear---it has to flop this weekend.
Bad reviews and derision from loyal fans is one thing, but this has to flop bad in both NA and worldwide. If WE BO is under $30 mill that would be great.
I'm afraid that curious non fans will be looking for one last " big" summer movie and stumble into this disaster.

Yeah, If they do get them back this century then I would let them out to play in increments.

A cameo here a feature there.

But a Silver Surfer film could hit the ground running.

And an Annihilation movie in the 4th Phase would be a dream come true. But I'm getting ahead of myself. Fox surely have a couple more FU's up their sleeves.

I thought the trailer was okay. Personally I don't get the big woop about the project yet. Ryan Reyolds playing himself while wearing a mask and killing thugs just isn't as interesting to me as it is other people on the interwebs.

Deadpool is an acquired taste for sure. But for fans of the character, it looks great.
