Deadpool is the one comic book character Ryan Reynolds was born to play, honestly. It suits his abilities perfectly.
I'm glad fans are satisfied with what they are seeing.Deadpool is an acquired taste for sure. But for fans of the character, it looks great.
I thought the trailer was okay. Personally I don't get the big woop about the project yet. Ryan Reyolds playing himself while wearing a mask and killing thugs just isn't as interesting to me as it is other people on the interwebs.
Colossus looks the best he has ever looked, he looks spectacular.I'm in the same boat. I'm not a Deadpool fan. At all. But you can clearly see the commitment and excitement behind this project that was just so lacking with Fantastic Fail.
And dang if Colossus doesn't look perfect!

Despite my disinterest I do respect that the people who made it seem like they cared about the project. I am really happy for the fans because just because I don't quite get it (perhaps yet?) doesn't mean that I want the fans to be disappointed.
I think Trank took on Fantastic Four to move on to what he thought were bigger and better things, I don't think that he ever gave the slightest damn about the property. If he didn't care there should have been people controlling the scripting process. I don't think that a director has to love or even care deeply about the source material but he/she has to not be incompetent and surround themselves with people who do care.
Agreed!Colossus looks the best he has ever looked, he looks spectacular.

Yep, he got his dream job...for a while. It's too bad that he had to take the Fantastic Four down with him. And to be fair to Trank this was a rights grab film that Fox rushed into development.Agreed!
I think you're right and I think that "bigger and better" project was Star Wars. When he got that gig he publicly gushed over the opportunity. When he got the FF job there was complete silence.

No sympathy for Trank. He was being a jackass about this before filming even started. The Star Wars firing was NOT his first social media outburst. Dude had a prior Twitter account he closed after his nonsense. He shouldn't have used the Fantastic Four to sort out his personal problems in the first place.
Ryan Reynolds played Wade Wilson in X-Men Origins because he really wanted to play Deadpool, even though in XMO it was like a bastardized version of the character, one of many reasons why that movie failed. I just watched the Red Band trailer for Deadpool and I'm glad that Reynolds finally get to play the superhero that he loves, and this time he did the character justice.
Anyway, for FFINO, I hope its RT will end up in the 30s and then match it with a 30 mil OW. It's time that GA does not reward good box office for bad movies, like they did with Transformers.
I just hope FOX doesn't play hardball with Marvel and just wait for the rights to revert back. I posted earlier that I'd like to see the F4 show up in Black Panther, like in the comic.
I almost hope Fox is stupid enough to throw Fantastic Four characters into an X-Men film if they really can do that. It would almost certainly force them to give Marvel the Fantastic Four cut of money, which is higher than the X-Men cut.
Make the X-films less profitable. Yeah, that's real smart.
