The FFINO ZONE - Part 2

Think about this a second:

Marvel makes a surprise announcement of an FF film at 2016 Comic Con - Wild, jubilant excitement and anticipation from fans.

Fox makes a surprise announcement of an FF film at 2016 Comic Con - They'd get booed out of the state and there might be realistic fear of physical violence.

That's the position Fox has put themselves in. We know that, Fox knows that and Marvel knows that.

How can Fox possibly convince Marvel they intend to make another FF film in the next seven years when we all know exactly where things stand?

True. And Fox do want their TV show.

So ... There's been a Doctor Doom clip that several legit websites have posted. I haven't seen the clip, and that's because the video is being taken down everywhere apparently due to "copyright" stuff.

FOX trying to hide the crap treatment of Doom? Trying to salvage what audience the film has left prior to opening day? :funny:

I haven't been following this movie much at all. I just heard about the casting and the whole controversy of casting Michael B. Jordan, and that was about it. I saw the trailer without any knowledge of the stuff that's gone down behind the scenes.

Well, today I have been doing my research about what's happened during the making of this movie. Can we say trainwreck? This film is going to live in infamy if the stuff I've heard about the director is remotely true. Damn, just damn. This film is a catastrophe of epic proportions.

The good news is that this franchise is done. I can't see this being fixed in a sequel. You don't score a 26 on Metacritic and get to do a second film. Either get Kang right or don't do him at all.

I shudder at the thought of what Fox would do to Kang. Apocalypse is downright worrisome as it is. At least Singer has a hand in that so he will probably turn out OK but Fox has a terrible track record with villains. They've screwed up Marvel's greatest villain not ONCE, not TWICE but THREE times. Mole Man was so bad they decided to discard the character completely at the last minute. And don't forget Galactus the giant space fart!

Okay, so let's say Fox wants to trade the Fantastic Four movie rights for the X-men TV rights and Marvel wants the trade also. Is this possible for these 2 companies to do, because of the Television rights and the movie rights within Fox being separate entities (as another user put it earlier). Is there one person or group of people within Fox that oversee's both entities that could make this decision possible? To me it would seem likely as they share the same name "FOX" that someone is in charge that oversee's everything related to these various entities. So, while the movie division might not want to part with Fantastic Four, and the Television part might want to make the deal with Marvel, it to me would seem like none of that would matter if the guy upstairs in charge of everything says this is going to happen. However, just was wondering if anyone knows anything about Fox's hierarchy.

They are different divisions of the same company, so the corporate management of the entire organization can tell either division what they have to do (based on what corporate management feels is best for the company overall).

Think of it this way. Marvel films is a completely different entity than Disney Theme Parks, but they both are accountable to corporate Disney management.

If Marvel Films decides they'd like certain Marvel merchandise sold in Disney Theme Parks prior to release of a new film, but Disney Theme parks says: "No, I don't like that idea", Disney Theme parks can only say no up until corporate Disney decides, "yeah, that would be a good idea".

Whatever corporate management decides is best for the company overall happens.

It's like two employees reporting to the same boss. They're individuals who can make their own decisions up to a point, but the boss has the ultimate say.

Here he is. In all his glory:

Paying to see this movie this weekend is like giving your money over to a prostitute who tries to seem really seductive at first, and once it's handed over, her attitude changes and she doesn't do anything at all for an hour or takes your money and runs.

One reviewer called it the "cinematic equivalent of blue balls". I'd post a link to the vid but it's full of foul language.

Well then let's hope the people that are in charge that run all the divisions of Fox think the trade would be a good idea as I could see everyone benefiting. Also, does anyone know if the bad blood with Marvel and Fox has been just between Marvel and upper management of the film division of Fox or actually been between Marvel and the execs that run it all.

If this all continues the way it's currently going (trainwreck), by next week Fox will probably come to the conclusion that F4 hold no real monetary value for them. And it's money that talks, whatever about "bad relations between Fox & Marvel", and the money will say that Fox would make more money from X-Men movie merch, or from X-Men TV rights than continuing trying to make F4 films.

Every review that rolls in is a tiny hammer hitting Fox in the balls, telling them that F4 is no use to them, crytalising the notion that trading F4 back to Marvel is the shiniest option.

Actually I'd compare it more to a prostitute who is really ugly who sees you walking down the street and tells you she doesn't care what you want, she's going to do whatever she feels like, she's going to crap on you and slap your sensitive areas . . . but "you'll f*** me anyway" . . . and paying for that.

Since the interests cross divisions, I'd expect people from corporate Fox to be directly involved. The TV division and film division have probably talked to corporate management about their interests and they may be involved on some level in the discussions, but the real power to make a deal or not will almost certainly be with corporate management.

I just realized this entire film is a metaphor for a bad sexual experience. Ben Grimm gets drunk and makes a bad decision only to wind up with a severe skin condition and the loss of his penis.

What's funny is...Family Guy did this pretty much same joke before!

That is gold right there.

:pal:

It may come down to Ike Perlmutter hashing out the details with the Murdochs.

I doubt the Murdochs are involved in IP rights discussions with the studio. At that level they only care about the earning reports and what the board of directors say.

All they would likely want to see is if a deal can be met what the expected revenues would be.

They will be more concerned about turning out what will be one of the biggest flops of the summer and the studios only real big film of the summer season, than whether they can keep the rights and reboot again.

The more likely immediate scenario of all of this is that Jim Gianopulos will be fired and/or resign as CEO of Fox Filmed Entertainment.

Oh my gosh, you need to make this your signature! LOL!

Ben goes to see a prostitute. She says she'll slap his sensitive areas and that he'll f*** her anyway.

Ben looks down to see if that will work: "What a revolting development!"

BTW, this really ugly prostitute might look better in post production. :o

Rolling Stone straight up murdered this **** goddamn!

If already posted my bad:

The latest reboot of the Fantastic Four — the cinematic equivalent of malware — is worse than worthless. It not only scrapes the bottom of the Marvel-movie barrel; it knocks out the floor and sucks audiences into a black hole of soul-crushing, coma-inducing dullness. And, guess what, it's an origin story. That's right. A gifted young cast (Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Jamie Bell, Michael B. Jordan) has been hired to freshen the plot, like an old ****e trying to pass as jailbait. No go.

:funny:

^ And there's another ****e metaphor right there.

He's caught a sexually trank-mitted disease. :o
