If Trank is finished, I sure hope Fox is finished making F4 movies too.

Movie's only been out in most domestic theaters for less than an hour and the filmmakers are already pointing fingers. What a wild ride.

I pray that someone was rolling a B Camera behind the scenes and we get something akin to the SW Episode I documentary that breaks down just what the hell happened for us.

Holy hell, this thing has an even lower Rotten Tomatoes score than Green Lantern. I'm definitely going to see it eventually out of curiosity, just probably not in theaters.

If they put an extensive, honest behind the scenes documentary on the blu-ray, I will pay for it day 1.

Because he had a quality film under his belt before tackling this one. And because studio tampering never works out.

We can only guess which way it was. Oh man, that documentary would be so sweet.

I don't like tampering either, I guess Spider-Man 3 was the first time when I really saw how these things can go, didn't they force Venom on Raimi? Also X3, Ratner was just a director-for-hire, he'd have no problems saying "yes" to anything.

But I do understand studio tampering if something really is a steaming pile of vomit, then it's only natural to want to do something about it. Many good films have come out of that struggle between creativity and authority. Some people can turn that into something glorious.

This whole thing is really weird.

Speaking of which, I thought it was weird how we haven't seen any b-roll at all.

I mean, even if they aren't, when do you think another chance is gonna come? The property was flimsy enough before 2005. Then two bad movies came out. And now their redeeming chance is WORSE than the last two bad iterations. Fantastic 4 is a poison property. No chance of seeing them again for at least 10 years, unless Marvel gets them back--then they might find someway to fit them into their schedule. But their cancellation of the title and the removing of characters from retro merchandise shows me they don't really care for the F4 that much right now--definitely not enough to rearrange their movie schedule like they did for Spidey.

Marvel has to have a serious meeting scheduled with their legal team for Monday. This farce of a production has been bad for them, and now even the director has gone rogue.

A good part of the reason for the cancellation/removal of characters from merchandise is probably because of Fox, though. If Marvel regained the rights, they would likely start rebuilding the F4's presence that they've recently been downplaying.

Oh, absolutely. I'm not saying Marvel is tossing them aside. But they would much rather hurt Fox than keep their faces on shelves, which means they clearly have other priorities at the moment. They would never do that with someone like Spidey. Ever.

So if MBJ is really in Trank's corner, what's the over-under on his agent trying to get him out of any theoretical sequel Fox may be stupid enough to move forward on?

don't. Give. This. Money.

^This. Vote with your wallets, guys. If you want to see this just for the **** of it, wait till it's out of theaters. If you support this movie, you support Fox and their scheming, little, dirty fingers poking around in their movies.

What's the penalty for walking away from a film contract?

Seriously. Who from the cast would actually want to return for a sequel?

It'll be on Netflix next week anyway, so no rush.

What did the emails say?

Kinberg was messaging Amy Pascal iirc. Said he was "at the big boys table" and that he'd "told them the truth about Josh trank".

Could mean anything I suppose, but phrasing like that doesn't suggest it was likely to be complimentary.
