The FFINO ZONE - Part 2

As I said, all the makings of a camp classic. Oh why did you have to meddle, Fox...

So have any of the FFINO supporters actually done a 180 and finally admitted to the atrocities of this movie, or are they still defending it? Or are they waiting until it comes out in their area? I know there were a few of them, but I'd be interested to see who still adheres adamantly to this and who can no longer deny what is before them.

Low expectations with Apocalypse now. Especially with that absolute **** design.

Plenty of them have disappeared from this section entirely. There are a handful sticking around and arguing that it might be decent, but for the most part they've disappeared.

I was just thinking that. With the messed up design of Apocalypse and these two franchises "allegedly" being in the same universe, I wonder if it brings down Fox's universe. Sadly, I haven't seen a Fox superhero movie since The Wolverine and have no plans on seeing any of them again, especially with Jackman retiring.

Well I just said, in the past I was willing to give this benefit of the doubt and clearly I was wrong (I just said that a couple of posts ago). I think there is a difference between giving something the benefit of the doubt and being a cheerleader for it, as soon as heard the Doom was going to hacker, I lost all faith in this film.

I don't mind admitting when I am wrong, just because someone defended a movie before it came out a bit, doesn't mean they are going to defend when it comes out and is a stinker.

Whatever happens with Apocalypse will tell us all where FOX so called cinematic universe will be. They will certainly be a distant third behind Marvel/Disney and WB/DC. Just wait in see come next year.

I was really excited for it but from everything I've seen, it seems like maybe Vaughn was their saving grace. Now that he isn't involved, it might be going down the crapper.

Let's be real: They already are. Marvel is the clear cut winner right now. BvS looks to have a $1B movie as they kick off their universe and Fox has..........F4. I don't think they have yet to have ANY of their CB movies to hit $1B ever........I can see CA: CW and BvS doing that next year but I don't see Apocalypse breaking that trend.

Well that's a better attitude to take, but I'm sure some will defend it to the end no matter what. It sounds like it isn't even a particularly good film. Some said it might be a good film but not a good FF film, but it doesn't even seem to be that.

Pretty sure the X-Men franchise in its current incarnation has maxed out its audience. I don't see it growing significantly any time soon. Marvel and DC will remain on top for the foreseeable future.

Yeah, he was totally gonna be a blogger.

I vaguely recall someone posting he wasn't a blogger just because he called himself Doom on blogging sites as though being on them and posting blogs is the biggest difference in the world or that in any way was relevant to people's criticism of Doom being reduced to an angry nerd and his username.

Yeah, I think the X-men have the most consistent fan base. It's the longest running CBM franchise, and they've definitely found their audience, but I don't see that crowd growing as large as the other two studio's audience unless Apocalypse blows everyone away.

I stopped after The Last Stand and don't regret it despite being enticed by Deadpool

i agree, it doesn't seem to have a growing franchise like the Harry Potter films did, they've just leveled out...

Totally agree.......we all know FF was just a rights grab and FOX never had any respectable intentions for it.

As for Apocalypse.....its supposed to be FOX real universe starter after DOFP erased everything. New cast and spinoffs and so forth. FOX has everything riding on it being a massive success. I don't expect much better numbers than DOFP who couldn't even beat X3 domestic take 9 years ago. Thats sad. International numbers may be decent but all these action/sci fi ensemble flicks are doing big business overseas.

Fox could be effectively squeezed out the big picture for CBM in the upcoming years with Apocalypse underwhelming.

I'm pretty anti-Fox, but Deadpool looks like a sure-fire hit. I'm more than happy to give them my money on that film because it'll be a reward for actually caring about adapting a property properly. Granted they gave it a shoe-string budget and a mediocre release date, but I'm just happy Deadpool looks and acts exactly like Deadpool.

Not to mention Jackman leaving. I honestly think that is going to be their biggest blow yet. Not to mention they have no idea on how to build a universe. They never explained how X1 was so different from DOFP. I thought it was suppose to fix everything but it didn't address a single thing. What do you guys think XM: Apoc will make next year? I honestly have no idea and to be honest, I like Deadpool but I have a hard time seeing it gross over $140M DOM because it's rated R and not a family movie. It will be fun though.

I can't see Apocalypse making more than DoFP

I can't see Apocalypse making more than DoFP

I'd have to see a trailer before I really make that call, but I think it has a better chance WW than domestically.

Maybe we need to those North Korean hackers to work on FOX this time... :cwink:

I watched the latest Doom clip. If that wasn't Doom it'd be pretty cool. He does seem like a formidable villain and I like the powers on display, BUT the fact that he is meant to be Doom and the fact that he is wasted in this film just sucks any and all coolness out of him.
