The FFINO ZONE - Part 2

Maybe Fox should go in with a different marketing tack now. Maybe do a Razzie-type ad where they showcase how awful the reviews, RT scores are just to lure in the, "WTF it can't actually be that bad, can it?" Crowd.

Put me on charge of Marketing, Fox ;)

ETA: Crash Test Doomy is gold, people. Actual gold.

Ryan Reynolds and Halle Berry both went on to play other heroes after their solos bombed.

The difference here is those two are well liked & have bigger fan base. Than any of these 4 clowns. The only one I can see maybe playing another character villain down the line is Crash Test Doomy. Since he has proven himself with that Ape movie

Personally I think all four have the potential to move on from this. They're four relatively young actors who have their careers ahead of them. F4 may be hardly a blip on the radar for them.

Eventually I think they will all move on but to another comic book movie in this day and age? I have my doubts.

Wow, this is just sad now

Trank might as well go back to what he was doing before chronicle because I don't think he's gonna find work anywhere.

8%...wow. 8 stinking percent. It's going to be The Fantastic 4% soon

Man too see his career fall apart from several months ago when he was spearheading a potentially big comic book franchise and on board to direct a film in the Star Wars universe.

I almost pity him.

I picture them doing more indie films rather than blockbusters or comicbook movies. The F4 experience could maybe have burned them out.

This is exciting. How low can it go? It's almost a pity that it has a few very dubious "fresh" reviews.

I thought Chronicle was the best Superhero film of 2012 (not a big Avengers person), it's a very good film in my opinion and I expected big things from Trank. Trank could have overcome this failure if not for his reported incompetence.

The Fantastic 4%

It is destiny

Let's suppose Fox and Kinberg want to put all the blame onto Trank and use him as the scapegoat as to why this movie failed. Well, if most of his footage has been excised from the final cut, then couldn't Trank say that what you see in theatres isn't his movie? Couldn't he say that the first act, where there is apparently more characterisation, is all his, and everything after the "one year later" is all the reshoots?

So how would Fox and Kinberg get around that one?

What if Trank tried to argue that if they had kept it as he had originally filmed it, the film would've been more critically received, just as Chronicle was? This doesn't seem to be getting reviews similar to Chronicle at all.

:ilv:

They'll all move on from this because, in roughly 2 month, no one will remember this movie existed and very few people in the world will have even seen it.

This reminds me. There were rumours that movie was fixed in post also. Where did they originate? Not to mention there was a lck of people defending Trank and a cryptic tweet by Max Landis who worked with him that suggested he wasn't surprised when news finally broke of set problems.

Faraci gave it a good review? I thoght he hated dark and humorless comic films?

So I just looked back at the last 10 years and prior to this movie, if I was asked what was the worst 10 CBMs of that time, I'd come up with this list.

1. Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance
2. Jonah Hex
3. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
4. Green Lantern
5. The Spirit
6. X-Men: Wolverine Origins
7. Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer
8. Punisher: War Zone
9. Ghost Rider
10. Either Kick Ass 2 or Green Hornet

I guess Kick Ass 2 and Green Hornet, will now get a reprieve.

True but that is the problem. He made FF as his chronicle sequel instead of as FF and IIRC basically said that as comicon.

if he wanted to do a chronicle sequel he should have just done a chronicle sequel.
