I'm the guy that had the dream! The sad thing is my nightmare version was better than the finished product. For the sake of amusement, here's that post from many moons ago:

I had this crazy dream about the movie. It leaked online and fans watched it. The weird thing was that the dream was incredibly realistic. I know the actual product won't be anything like my dream (unless it is, in which case I hereby declare my bid for world domination as I have superpowers now), but it still made me wake up in terror. The movie was less than an hour and a half long (the one good part, as the damn nightmare played out in seemingly real time), it was incredibly cheesy, the powers barely played into it, Domashev had a ridiculous accent (and he was, in fact, a programmer. He made some weird "Doombots"), and for some odd reason Reed tried to play football. Sue also hated him, until she didn't anymore. This stupid movie has found a way to attack me in my sleep. It's like Freddy Krueger, but not as funny.

Maybe if Fox had hired a director who cared about the Fantastic Four and got the material they wouldn't be in this position right now? Maybe they wouldn't have had to do those costly reshoots in the first place? Just a thought.

If there was a great film to begin with, no amount of fan complaints should have swayed them into reshoots. Fox clearly did not have confidence in this film and everything that we've heard from it sounds like another TMNT2015 kind of studio meddling and not Kingdom of Heaven studio meddling. Just making a bad movie...still bad.

It's actually more bizarre that they didn't go with some gun-for-hire, journeyman director and churn out a safe, middling movie, because quite obviously the only important goal was retaining the rights. Instead they've risked an already fragile situation with a complete wild card and hot mess (Trank) who not so surprisingly turned out to be a disaster for the production. Completely and utterly inexplicable from FOX's point of view, but hey, I'm not complaining!

That's why they made the Crash Test Doomy look like Freddy. So he can be a troll of dreams.
