The FFINO ZONE - Part 3

Didn't Mark Millar say he had seen a rough cut of this movie and that it was "good"? He was obviously lying back then. He didn't even sound very enthusiastic and kept looking away from the camera in the interview or to his right (instead of his left) as if he were just making stuff up and BS-ing off the top of his head.

Hey Willie - did you see this posted in another thread?

Paul Dini about his experience with Fox and FF:

"I've been over to Fox a couple of times to pitch a FF movie, and the ignorance and contempt toward the property by the rights holders was truly staggering. And this was years before the current film makers did their version. No one on the lot had any idea what to do with it, and the one question they kept firing at me over and over was "why do they have to be in costume?" Looks like they solved that problem with the Thing, at least."

No. Thanks for bringing it to light.

That certainly seems to sum them up. Baffling that they could be so stupid, but they seem to be.

They seem too arrogant to recognize that the comic-books and Marvel Studios know things that they don't.

All they would have to do is hire someone from this board to read through scripts for them and help them choose production design and the quality and financial performance of their films would leap.

The latest reimagining of “Fantastic Four” is an experiment gone horribly wrong. What’s emerging in theaters this weekend is a mutant born out of haphazard screenwriting, poor direction and rushed special effects. The new movie based on the Marvel comic book series teams it-kids Miles Teller, Michael B. Jordon, Kate Mara and Jamie Bell, yet “Fantastic Four” manages to squander their talents and come off amateurishly constructed. I wonder if it escaped from the 20th Century Fox lot as a tax write-off.

Not enough harsh words will be heaped upon the film’s paper-thin plot, which goes from boring to laughably horrendous over the course of the movie. Director Josh Trank dropped the ball on the superhero playground.

The troubled past of this latest “Fantastic Four,” well-chronicled over at The Daily Beast, is apparent in almost every frame of this movie. Its sloppy script needs at least a baker’s dozen of rewrites before it’s remotely palatable. The special effects look about a decade out of touch, let alone the hollow sense of comradery that appears painfully forced onto the screen.

Do you guys listen to Elvis Duran and the Morning Show?

The Movie guy was reviewing Fant4stic (badly) and he said it was a Marvel movie.
Elvis was like "what? No" and tried to correct him. "No, it's Marvel characters, but licensed to another studio" but Movie guy was like "Well all I know is the Marvel sign was up and flashing, so it's a Marvel movie"... I f*ing HATE FOX!

I heard that too on the way to work and I was in my car screaming NO IT"S NOT!!!!!!!

Hey Flint.....if in the future you get an infraction for something.....remind me of this and I'll reverse it for you

I ROFL'd for serveral mins. I love how this forum is banding together in universal hatred toward is movie.

Isnt this the same Millar that liked Wanted? You would think any creator/writer worth his/her salt would have been horrified with the changes that were made to his story, but no, he was very vocal with his $upport.

Millar's pretty much worthless in the grand Fox sceme of things.

Was there many people there?

Not at all. Including me and my buddy, there were four people in the theatre. Never seen it so empty before on opening night, and I see a lot of movies.

If the movie is as genuinely bad as reviews suggest then I hope it utterly fails at the BO. Studios need to be taught that people won't shell out their hard-earned money for garbage especially when we've come to expect the higher standard set by the really good CBMs that have been released over the past several years.

Call it a 'fidelity supervisor'. Hell, I'll do it and at a bargain salary vs the rate Hollywood usually pays people.

Marvel should seriously tell fox to take their logo off all their movies

Lmao!!

The negative buzz around the new Fantastic Four is so radioactive you could almost expect to develop superpowers just by reading about it.

Marvel should seriously tell fox to take their logo off all their movies

And Fox will take their Fox logo off those movies. :o

Then they'll say that now that you've seen the crap that Marvel Studios have produced with this latest offering, it's time for a proper Fox reboot. :o

It's weird FOX seemed to be heading in a better direction with the new X-Men movies and the new PLanet of the Apes series.

But it seems like they're back on that bulls***

It's because they literally don't care about the Fantastic 4. I'm convinced they only made the movie to spite Marvel

It seems, based on press notes, that the timeskip was supposed to be three years:

Didn't it say 1 year in the film, or were people just assuming it was 1 year?

It did say 1 year in the film. Looks like that was changed in post.

Oh I see. THAT's why Tranked is mad. They ruined his movie! Yeah, that would have made it all better!

Have you guys read Harry Knowel's review of the film? He of course liked it enough to want to see it a second time. The best part is when he claims that if you disliked this film by no means should you have liked any of the live action Batman films.
