The FFINO ZONE - Part 3

Wait, hold the phone ... There are people DEFENDING this movie? Welp. Okay then.

I'm pretty neutral when it comes to Marvel vs. Fox for the most part. Of course I prefer the MCU because I see a level of care put into the movies; plus, they're a lot more fun. That said, I'm okay with Fox still owning the X-Men because that franchise seems to have gotten back on its feet with First Class and Days of Future Past, and I'm excited to check out Apocalypse and Deadpool.

Fox has abused the Fantastic Four, though. Look at the royal f-up that was their Daredevil movie: Marvel finally got a hold of their character and made one of the best comic book adaptations I've ever seen. After this pathetic attempt at a Fantastic Four movie, I'm ready for Marvel to get their First Family back!

I just want good movies, and Fox had their chance(s). And they failed again and again. It's time for someone else to get a hold of this franchise; someone who actually respects the source material.

Weren't there some articles a few months ago saying how this was going to be a much better version of the FF compared to the "crappy" Story versions, and making fun of those movies? I don't remember which site it was. But they obviously spoke too soon. Can they still hold to that view now?

FFINO is going to be the movie that everyone mocks in future, not the Story ones.

I'm sure there are people defending Catwoman too. They must exist.

This should be the attitude. Great post Buddy!

I'd rather watch Catwoman again instead of watching the FFINO movie once, I'll say at least that much.

Catwoman at least has that WTF factor that makes it somewhat humorous. I consider it to be the Showgirls of comic book movies (though Showgirls is a much more hilariously awful movie; it's a disastrous masterpiece).

Everything I've heard about FFINO makes me want to avoid it at all costs. Like I said before, I can't do "boring" bad. If the film was destined to be terrible, it could have at least been "funny" terrible.

EDIT- I'll even escalate it to this point: I'd rather watch The Amazing Spider-Man movies again instead of watching FFINO once, and people on the Spidey boards know how much I hate the TASM movies.

The advantage with Catwoman is that she wasn't even Selina Kyle. She was Patience Phillips. So it could be seen like a one-shot or alternate take about a different Catwoman and not the one everyone knows.

Here with FFINO, they still use the familiar names of Reed, Ben, Johnny and Sue. At least if they called them something else who just became some kind of team of four who were mildly fantastic then it might be slightly more acceptable but not much.

When this hits DVD. Perhaps someone should do a fan cut. Where they edit out whenever those names are said

I waited until last year or so with Catwoman. I don't know why, usually I want to see films that get so horrible word of mouth, just to see how bad something can be, because some of them are so horrible that they become a wonderful source of entertainment.

It definitely had the WTF factor. Every shot was slanted, that basketball music videoish scene...I think my mouth was open, often and wide. It's a movie that's fun to dissect and laugh at, while asking "why" every other second. It's almost like a dive into someone's insane, crippled mind.

I too doubt that FF can offer even that.

Seen the movie 12 hours ago. Simply the worst movie I have ever seen. They spent one fteaking hour setting up characters and building a damn machine.

This could have been done in 20 minutes! The character backstories were pathetic. Johnny came on a board because he wanted a car. Ben got on because he was Reed's bff.

Now imagine watching an Iron Man movie with Stark in a cave for an hour building his suit.

Doom was pathetic. He was only a villain for like 15 mins tops. He wasn't even menacing as a human.

Johnny's torch form looks a cartoon. Thing's voice. Damn I could go on and on.

And why do they have to do it there where it's off topic, instead of in the actual FFINO forums where there are plenty of threads to talk about it? Why aren't any of the positive people here defending it?

Well they only had two major cards during this debate.

1) The "wait and see" card

2) And the "Go see it an judge for yourself" card

Both of which have become inert so now they're playing spoiler with post like "Fox will never give the rights back to Marvel because...(Words)"

Even Campea made reference to Fox still keeping at it in his review of this film where he begrudgingly admitted defeat in after months of "I love 4stic!".

So they work with what they have which never really was much to begin with.

It would've been amazing if Trank was actually a secret genius and staged his behavior to make a documentary. So he was basically in on it the whole time to denounce Fox and their tactics in a groundbreaking documentary. However Trank just isn't that smart or meta

He would need to be Chris Walken in that Cusack/Roberts/ZetaJones movie.

We've had a couple of real stinkers in Elektra and Catwoman, but as far as the scope and visibility of this project, I've never seen a more universally loathed film on hype than this one.

They do exist, but only within an alternate timeline in which the Catwoman movie was actually good.

At least SHOWGIRLS had real women....the main stunt double for Halle was a guy.

Catwoman is hilarious. It's super cheesy, has some of the worst acting in a CBM and has one of the most comical villains i can think of.

Well i must admit we did laugh a lot at Doom today with my friend. The line "there is no Victor here, only Doom" and the whole easter island head mixed with hobo look was just too much.

I feel like I need to see Catwoman, I see it being almost affectionately made fun of all the time and I want to understand why everyone says its so enjoyable.

It will look better in post production in motion the sequel the reboot. :o

I honestly don't see it that way. I have affection for the horrible hilarity of B+R. Catwoman is just horrible imo.

Batman & Robin is hilarious. I like it in an ironic way of course.

Well, "enjoyable" might be pushing it, but it has many, many, many scenes you honestly cannot believe a set of (hopefully) clearheaded, rational adults decided were a good idea to commit to celluloid.

As for "favorite" scene? Well, I don't want to spoil anything, but I have just one word for you: catnip. If you can watch the scene without some major, major feelings of second-hand embarrassment, I applaud you. I had to physically turn myself away from the screen.

And Now, a Tribute to Kate Mara's Awful Wig in Fantastic Four

But in the face of so much that has gone wrong here, is there anything in Fantastic Four that's somehow so wrong, it's actually right? I would argue yes, and I point you to the most audacious thing featured in this very expensive, very sleepy movie: the very fake Reshoots Wig they slapped on female lead Kate Mara. Hoo, boy, is it a sight to behold.

WHAT. omg.

Bless their hearts. This is the one reason I want to see this movie (no don't worry I wouldn't actually pay for it): To track how often we see this wig. We need it for documentation on which scenes are the reshoots. The history of cinema needs this information.
