Did he have any sporting background or could he have just as easily done ballet?

If I recall correctly, there was no mention of any kind of sport. The poor guys hardly in the movie, probably the same amount of screen time of Victor

They made such a big deal about baseball in the trailers, too. Sheesh, they took BOTH of Ben's bats away...

Ben Grimm did have a sporting background. His favorite activity was water sports. You can imagine the horror after he lost the tool of the sport when he transformed.

I'm not kidding when k say the first time we see Victor, it's a slightly less sad version of this

Usually the 2nd act of a film is the longest, with the first being the set up. The 3rd usually follows on naturally from a turning point at the end of the 2nd act where the protagonist has to make some kind of choice. This all sounds idiotic.
It is. The entire second half feels like the 2nd and 3rd acts were thrown into a blender together. It's awful.

I think the fallout from this could be huge. No one will be untouched. Heads will roll at Fox and I think even Kinberg is going to have some questions to answer at Disney.

there wasn't even a 2nd act

only an ok 1st act which immediately skips to a very forgettable 3rd act

Yeah I probably should have phrased that better: a couple scenes from the second act and the third act were tossed in a blender. And the end effect is that there is no second act.

My wife has officially told me......do not mention the FANTASTIC FOUR in any way shape or form again.......

Guess my complaints will only be expressed on the Hype from now on.

At least if all the creative people involved just followed the standard 3 act structure, the film might have actually done a little better. It sounds like they just had raw footage and cobbled something together.

It almost sounds like Bruce Lee's last incomplete movie, "Game of Death", which had to be cobbled together from the little footage they had mixed with reaction shots from his other movies, a cardboard cut out of him in the mirror, footage from his actual funeral and numerous doubles in disguise in order to finish it. And ironically, that film still managed to score 78% on RT even though it's a terrible film. Of course, there are only 8 reviews.

:funny:

The funny thing is, I told my wife something similar when she asked me if I wanted to see it this weekend.

"This is possibly the most indulgent film ever made" - Roger Ebert

"an incoherent and vulgar vaudeville" - TIME

"a conglomeration of frenzied situations, ‘in’ gags and special effects, lacking discipline and cohesion." - Variety

"reckless, disconnected nonsense that could be telescoped or stopped at any point" - The New York Times

"...squanders its all-star cast on a meandering, mostly laugh-free script." - General RT consensus

"a film of momentary vision, collaboration, adaption, pastiche, and accident" - Robert von Dassanowsky, Cinema Historian

"disjointed and stylistically erratic" - Danny Peary, American Film critic and sports writer

These are all comments about Casino Royale 1967, but they could just as easily be applied to FFINO. I said numerous times before that FFINO is just like that film which was made to retain the film rights to that, and also turned out to be a colossal and incoherent mess. However, CR 67 ended up with a RT score of 27%.

The FFINO ZONE: The place to vent all your Fanfourstic frustrations so your loved ones don't give you real life infractions

During ancient times when FFINO supporters frequented these boards, they would often question why FF fans would post with such bitterness towards a silly superhero reboot. What they didn't understand - what they couldn't comprehend - was that those angry posts were saving marriages.
