Nah, I think Barry will succeed in saving Cisco. Note that, while he's technically changing the past, Cisco's part in the timeline is fairly tangential. Compared to "preventing the final attack of Clydon and the giant tsunami that directly lead to me traveling back in time", its causally unimportant. If he can prevent the city from getting destroyed, he should also be able to save one life who he didn't even realize was lost.

Now, the fact that Cisco gets endangered again *is* significant, because it demonstrates some of how time has inertia. Things tend to turn out the way they were going to turn out, and while this is not an infinite resistance, if you get events recurring based on a contemporary event unrelated to the history change? Imagine how much resistance Barry would face if he actually tries to save his mom, whose death is important to basically everything that happens for the next 15 years, for multiple temporally-influential individuals.

Flashpoint.

I honestly had no desire to see Cold and Heatwave again so soon.

I did. In fact, I wished we had seen more of them prior to this. I consider Rogues like Captain Cold, Heatwave and the Rogues to be almost as important as Barry's supporting cast. Plus, if you saw the Paleyfest trailer, it looks like big things are happening with Cold this episode. Not gonna spoil.

I just hope that they don't dumb down Barry again, where he forgets that he could simply take Cold's and Heatwave's guns from them in a instant.

Cold field! It was mentioned briefly in episode four! Nuff' Said!

Very, very briefly, with never a mention again nor any kind of actual demonstration of its existence. If they want to justify their encounters as "Barry slows down close to Snart", actually spend some SFX money on *some* kind of indicator thus.

By all accounts, there's no way that Captain Cold and Heatwave should have been able to give Barry the trouble that they did in their last encounter with each other, given that Barry was neither injured and that there wasn't a cold field in usage at that time.

As flashy as it looks to see Barry take on those two, it doesn't make any sense for Barry to have problems in defeating those two. Captain Cold and Heatwave, as they stand now, are just two human beings with powerful guns of their own. If he can't beat in a flash, no pun intended, under those terms then that suggests that he's not capable of taking on average criminals at all.

Well, how did this go down in this comic?

He did lose his momentum after crashing through the frozen fire hydrant though.

A real pity that neither Cold nor Heatwave will stick around on the Flash for the next season. They probably only will appear for cross-overs with this new spin-off show they are now part of...

This is so damn lame, I love the Rogues, it is so stupid that two of the most famous ones are now put onto another show... why not expand their parts on the Flash instead?

Damn you Johns and your fixation on Len!!! DX<

I don't think you need to worry about that. The spinoff is just a mid season replacement, I believe. There's plenty of time for Lennie to pop back up on The Flash too.

Go tell everyone! (slam and knocks him out)

ETA: And Barry is going to do everything to completely screw up the timeline ;)

Barry/Iris scenes are painfully awkward. Can someone just tell me what happens so I don't have to watch them.

Yep.I think that was kinda intentional this time, though.

Barry: "You really like me don't you?":ilv:

Iris: "Uh...no.Like I told you before.Duh."

Barry: :waa:

"What if you travelled back decades, centuries? Imagine the havoc you could wreak."

Thawne gonna Thawne.

Cisco...snitched! Boo!

I guess this is better than him dying.

Yeah, the universe seems to be course correcting, but in ways slightly better. Now we just need the police chief to break a leg or something.
