I hope Eiling hasn't just been wasted, but returns brainwashed.

I thought the way they handled the Ronnie and Stein story was brilliant on all levels and leaves plenty of story for future eps, both characters are good additions and their unique bond has a lot of potential.

Joe is the glue of this show for me, from his scenes with Barry, letting him know about the blood result and holographic projection in his old house, to him riffing with Cisco on movies! :D He is the fulcrum for all the other characters IMO.

Eiling was on some Batman trip with his gadgets, the one that took Barry out the first time was particularly cool.

I loved the visual of The Flash and Firestorm running/flying towards the screen! :wow:

The end scene was just magnificent, Wells revealing himself as the Reverse Flash was great as he served up Eiling, and the way they are building the ominous threat of Grodd is brilliant, the shots so far have been framed and lit perfectly and the voice was ideal IMO.

Like they're doing with Arrow lately (same writers), this episode was full of nonsense:

Why didn't Wells kill Eiling once he knew the General was after Firestorm? It would've saved him and Team Flash a lot of trouble.

The US military attacking innocent citizens in public, drawing attention to themselves... yep, very smart. :o

General Eiling, a psychopath willing to kill innocent people in cold blood... his men and the President should be very proud. :whatever:

With better writing, the military would've been more low-key and Eiling a decent person, tough but fair, never a psycho, making him a more complex, interesting character instead of a cartoonish villain.

Oh, and when Barry, Caitlin, Ronnie and Stein arrived at Star Labs, Ronnie was all cleaned up while Stein was still dirty. It would've made more sense if both were dirty since they just got there. But, like they have shown with Arrow, the producers don't care about "details", they seem to think most viewers are dumb enough to accept any crap they come up with like they did with Oliver not dying, characters being dumbed down for plot convenience (Barry, Iris, Cisco, etc) and a long list of other bad writing choices.

Maybe I'm expecting too much and should see these shows as just guilty pleasures, but they could be much more with better writers and producers.

I think the only thing that ended up looking "cheap" in this episode was when Ronnie and Stein first merged back together, as Eiling's men were approaching them.

It looked as though the effects them just covered the shot with a fire/blaze-like effect before switching over to a new shot with just Amell in it.

Last night's episode was good. The whole Firestorm stuff was interesting, the time travel stuff is what I'm looking forward to the most! This episode solidifies Harrison Wells is Reverse-Flash. Also Grodd! Oh my Grodd! So good!

I'm still of the opinion that the big twist will be Flashpoint-esque and that it will turn out that the RF didn't kill Barry's mother, he was just trying to stop Barry from saving her and ruining everything. I think the biggest twist would be that it was Barry's dad that killed his mum, but I don't know if they'd go there.

Why would Henry Allen kill his wife? He's not a murderer, he's a good father and loves his son. On the other hand, Wells is a murderer, a liar and a manipulator who uses people as he sees fit.

:up:me too! i freaking loved the visuals of that! it was really well done!

I imagined they went to Cait's apartment, Ronald had a change of clothes there, and on to Star Labs.

Want to pick the series apart even harder?

Where does Harrison get the finance from to continue with his gizmos and materials? Does he steal them all like he stole that device from Mercury labs?

How do Cisko and Caitlin (later Ronald will be added to the image) finance their accommodation? They don't steal a thing.
Nits is something science-y.
:halo:

Oh I definitely think Grodd will be keeping Elling alive and make him his puppet for a while.

They didn't have Eiling give that "Last time I did this it was to a guerrilla" for nothing.

Also my guess is Wells brought Eiling to Grodd to brainwash Eiling to keep the military and government off the meta-humans.

Most defintely. Eiling can't die until he gives us Captain Atom and Major Force! :argh:
Yep! even though i hate the dude like a son of ^%&*() that dude cant be dead till he gives up those.... an until he himself turns in the "The General!" by using Captain America's super soldier serum "DC" style!:cwink:
that dude cant be dead!

Or maybe you should just stop watching both shows.

But a couple of things

-Wells didn't kill Eiling because he has other plans for Eiling it seems by giving him to Grodd.

-Eiling is very much a villain.

-You really are nitpicking Ronnie walking into STAR Labs in different clothes and his face clean? There are several explanations as to why. In fact it wouldn't surprise me if there was a scene that was cut for time.

My only problem was the US Military openly attacking Ronny in a Public Cafe.

Keep in mind there are actually 3 speedsters in play. Barry, Harrison Wells and a 3rd individual in yellow who may or may not be Wells from a different point in the time stream because we saw Wells and RF share a scene together when RF attacked that facility and got momentarily caught. Now Cisco and Joe only see 2 speedsters in the mirror possibly because how would you differentiate 2 different guys in yellow from each other in that distorted image? You can see where RF stops and Barry begins because their colors are different but there could easily be 2 guys in yellow in that scene and you'd never know the difference. Plus if they both are Wells at different points in time(but still both adults) then you really wouldn't get more than one extra blood sample from them even if they were both bleeding and left traces.

Or maybe you should just accept different opinions. ;)

We don't know if Eiling is still alive or not. If he is, Wells could use him thanks to Grodd's powers, but since mental manipulation is not permanent and because of the danger Eiling represents, he should be killed eventually.

They got to the Labs together, Ronnie then took a shower or whatever, but they don't tell Stein where to go to do the same? Yeah right, it was just a stupid continuity error they could've avoided.

Which is why this Eiling is a villain like he is in the comics . He is a General which is the highest level in the army. So the soldiers he commands are going to do what he says.

Still, seems foolish in a day and age where every single person has a mobile phone on them.

General Eiling's crimes would be court-martialed in reality. Like I said, it would've been better to make him an antagonist, someone who thinks metahumans are a potential threat to national security, but still a decent person, you have better stories with complex, multi-layered characters. But if you prefer cartoonish villains, just say so.

a torturer with a hart of gold, like syid out of lost. A scene showing affection, compassion or remorse towards one of his soldiers perhaps.

Wells trying to help Firestorm survive is confusing. If there is anyone other than Barry in Central City who could be a threat to his plans (whatever it is) its Firestorm. Also, the last time RF was kicking Barry's ass all over the place it was Firestorm who helped the Flash. Of course, we all know RF wasn't gonna kill Flash at that time but still, having Flash and Firestorm around is not something Wells would want I think.
