Liked Barry's personality and his contrast with Arrow, seems like it would be a fun pairing. But pretty much hated the rest of that promo, CW's style does nothing for me visually, it always looks very cheap.

What looked "cheap"? If you were expecting movie quality SFX, then is not for you, most tv shows can't compete with movies visually.

The promo was fun, which means the tone of the show will be more light-hearted than Arrow's, is a nice contrast.

Wait a sec, where is the SHH Flash smiley? We have one for freaking Ghost Rider and not the Flash, one of greatest? Bullocks!

Great effects, crisp cinematography, and Barry seems very likeable.

That was an awesome promo. My opinion on the suit remains the same, but it does look better in live action, and from a distance, the way the lightning on the belt was lit up it almost looks like his classic waist lightning trim from the comics - that's awesome! The cowl looks good, and Gustin was awesome (that side shot of him really reminds me of Chris Pine for some reason (who'd make a great Flash/Barry)). Hell, even though I wish they were at least solid, even the ear pieces didn't look too bad here, they looked decent. The speed effects looked pretty damn good for a tv show, and I am thrilled that they went for a fun yet taking the characters seriously type feel with the promo, I hope the show will be similar to that, it's so good to see in contrast with the ultra overdramatic/pretentiousness/nolanization of the recent DC films.

The characterization, what we can tell of it, from the promo for Flash also seems great. I like that Barry is lighthearted and fun, AS HE SHOULD BE (and always was in the silver age, until Johns shat over him with that murder backstory, although thankfully Barry got back to resembling his old self more not too long after that), The Flash should be bright, optimistic and fun, and if the show itself is as good as that promo I'll be tuning in every week for sure. Can't wait til this is a regular series. Also, how awesome was it to see two DC superheroes, tv or not, in costumes, interacting with each other? Music was very CW-y but that's par for the course and was probably just for the promo I think. The shot of him catching that arrow was AWESOME.

One final comment, in spite of my criticisms of the uniform, I'm thrilled to at least see him in a costume. I know that sounds like a silly thing to say somewhat today (in the age of MAARVELS and all ), but there was a time when the studio wanted him in nikes (back in the 90s, which thankfully they didn't do and we instead got the ahead of its time awesome JWS show/suit), or a friggin hoodie. And even as is, this suit blows Quicksilver, both of them, out of the water. The two Quicksilvers can eat ****. Flash is the man. Overall pretty damn good for the CW. I am excited.

Can't wait for this show.

We are living in a great time, man. SFX have come a long way.

Kids saw the clip and thought it was awesome. They don't sit through Arrow, but were glued to Flash. This is really a great thing because so many more people are going to become interested in The Flash now because of this show - this is great exposure for his character and past time if you ask me. Makes me happy.

Flash is a great character who I KNOW people would dig if they knew him and they did him right.

Would love for Flash and Arrow to be connected to the Man of Steel universe.

Nah, I'm cool with them being their own thing. Being connected to the movies gives the shows too many creative restrictions, IMO.

Not necessarily. Green Arrow and Flash are connected to Superman in DC Comics, and that doesn't restrict the writers of each character. Arrow and Flash being connected to MoS wouldn't mean they'd have to reference everything that happens in any DCCU movie.

True but it's not quite the same as in the comics. I feel like they have (or had) a way of balancing it all better there. Truthfully I think they can still do a better Flash and GA for the movies and on the other side I don't want a good TV show associated with a ****** film.

I think it restricts the quality and franchise potential of the movies. Could you imagine if Iron Man started on the CW and they turned down RDJ, Paltrow, Bridges, Howard/Cheadle, Bettany, etc for the movie because they wanted to please the CW audience? It flushes potential down the drain, and movies are a bigger deal from a business pov.

That being said, if WB believes that a Flash movie franchise will never be in the cards, then I guess connecting them and bringing in Gustin could make more sense. Boosting Flash's ratings via the shared universe might be more beneficial than having a slightly more enjoyable Barry Allen in the JL movies.

The speed sound fx is amazing - love the crackling of the lightning/electricity; really gives the speed even more kinetic energy.
