I'm with you Kevin! You crazy bastard! I'll give allowances for anything and try to be open minded, but everything you say about the costume is spot on.

I'm more concerned with the story they're going to tell. Story is key to this series existence.

By the way, if Arrow doesn't have a belt, why should the Flash? The Flash can have a unitard for a costume because he can. Hell he can even NOT have a costume if he chose to because he can run around without anybody seeing him! Pockets? Why? He can get to anything in an instant.

I have a suspicion that the jacket was designed to be able to merge the cowl/neckpiece to the rest of the costume. For the life of me I can't see it being done with spandex. Cowl + spandex I mean.

Still I am excited! Can't wait for the trailer!

I too am concerned with the story. It's CW so I don't have high hopes, but that's the other 50% for me right now. The costume's already been shot, however I can always hope they'll change it after the first season or pilot or whatever...who knows if they'd improve it though...

I'm totally fine with them not including the costs ring but if they're going to go through all the effort to explain how it comes out of a belt, why not just do the ring? I don't get it. The belt just looks bad.

I was just suggeting why it looks bulky. Could be for any reason or none at all. Personally, I don't care.

Yeah, but Flash in the NU52 design still has his big and bold classic trim in the areas he's always had it in addition to the little lines drawn all over, here he just has the yellow shoelaces glued on all over at random with none of the classic trim that defines the costume at all. Sucks.

They're clearly not stuck on at random. They're there as an obvious effort to look like the Nu52 lines. Maybe they tried the costume with the classic trim and just felt this one looked better? Who knows?

Good for you then. The diehard Flash guy with a 5 page Flash movie outline in his sig and lifetime reader is not.

Except they don't even look anything like the NU52 lines, either - at all. They don't even make a "lightning" shape....they just sort of go straight and dip...almost like wire.

Maybe they tried the costume with the classic trim and just felt this one looked better? Who knows?

If they did that I'm sure we'd be looking at the classic trim on his suit and discussing how awesome it is right now. Even so...unlike you and some others here, I don't have complete faith in what the hollywood "creative" community wants to do 100% of the time, every step of the way "their decision is always the BEST decision!" for the characters type thinking....in fact, 90% of the time, I'm sure most of the decisions are made on a "just cuz" basis with little rationale, and I'm 100% sure they DON'T have the characters' best interests at heart when they make their little "creative" decisions most of the time - hence this suck ass suit.

Looks like Gotham is scheduled for Mondays at 8PM(a slot some people thought the CW would air the Flash). I really can't see the CW(and more so the WB who produce both shows) wanting to put those 2 shows head to head.

To be fair, I KIND OF get the Constantine smoking thing. It's kind of a trademark of his character. It's not really a big deal for me, but I can see why some people are annoyed that it's been removed pretty much purely for PC reasons. As for the others, there's nothing intrinsically important to their characters. Ollie can still be the same character without a goatee, same for Gordon without the mustache. And Flash was fairly young when he got his powers in the comics to I believe.
